Driveshaft Angle

    TRD exhaust,TSB, 5100's on the front, 884 springs, Total Chaos UCA, 5100's on the rear, Wheelers HD rear springs , Nitto 285/70/17's on MB TKO 17x8.5's
    Getting a little vibrations right at 20mph while accelerating and slowing down. What angle should the driveshaft be???

    Your driveshaft angle should be just fine with that lift. If anything it would be your pinion angle. The pinion should be perfectly in line w/ the shaft if you have a CV joint or perfectly flat if you don't. A lift can cause the pinion to point upwards slightly which can be corrected with shims between the axle and spring pack. I am talking rear axle here. The front should maintain alignment and won't have issues until your lift is so tall that you are exceeding the range of the u-joints which you aren't.

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    With a leaf spring–equipped truck, the differential movement isn't nearly as controled, so more angle may be needed to prevent the U-joint from hyperextending beyond zero degrees under load. The pinion should be horizontal, or very slightly (1*) up angle. With a 3" + rear lift, 2.5* shims are optimal. Sounds like your truck may have the vibes described in the tranny mount TSB. I dont have the link for it, But Im sure someone will post it.

    Driveshaft angles/vibrations can vary especially when you're talking about lifted trucks.

    How much lift do you have in the rear? I see you have the TSB and an AAL?

    Did the vibrations start after the lift install? Or was everything OK after the lift and the vibrations came later?

    If the vibrations started immediately after the lift install - I'd recommend getting some axle shims for the rear. I think the smallest you can get is 2.5degrees. I had a similar vibration issue on my 96 tacoma after a lift and I installed 2.5degree shims (worked like a charm).

    As for the vibration TSB - the dealership might turn you down because you have a lift. But, you can certainly ask and see what they say.

    I tried carrier shims and also tried axle shims same result. Carrier shims seem to have been the most effective to lessen it but it is still there.

    What size axle shims did you try? Axle shims come in a variety of different sizes. If one size doesn't work, then most likely you need to try a larger shim.

    3* were the ones I tried... Could be the trans mount since while I was on the way home I put it in neutral while coming to a stop and no vibes at all.

    If it were a pinion angle issue it would be more likely to show up under hard acceleration/braking when axle wrap would exaggerate the issue. I have also had u-joint/bearing problems resulting in vibrations that seem to go away as soon as the load is removed. That means that just because you don't get a vibration when you put it in neutral that it isn't the problem isn't in that area.

    In this case I would look at the TSB and then go from there.
