    sweet. same here. need to clean all the tree crap off the pool cover so we can take it off. the pump has been running for a few weeks just left the cover on. but time to take it off. got a concert thursday.

    still need a few things before SC in may.

    If it were a NGP (no ground plane) antenna, you would not need a ground. yours is still grounded, what you did was stop it from shorting out.

    Who are you!?!?

    You can privately rent out an entire casino boat for a night, which would surely meet your size requirement, but I have a feeling that's not nearly as classy as what you're looking for

    Got this straight off Firestiks website:

    All NGP antennas leave the factory with a yellow band around the antenna just above the base

    So i do have a NGP, and by adding the rubberized washer i should not be grounded anywhere in line with the coax
