We use #2's also but #4's seem to catch a few more for me. Panther Martin is an all time favorite lure for me. I also really like #11 and #9 black and gold floating and countdown Rapalas.

No one around here knows to use Rapalas for trout, thank goodness. I use F5-F9, and CD5-CD9. Catch some monsters on those. There are a lot of good fish around here, but not everyone here knows how to catch them. When they do luck up on one, they keep them. I don't have a problem with keepin fish at all. But they keep like 18" trout to mount. That's a little ridiculous. If we're havin a fish fry or somethin, I'll keep one or 2 big ones, because one of those fish can feed like 4 people.

I bought a #4 a couple weeks ago, but most of the holes I fish aren't really deep enough for one that big. Have to reel it really fast to keep it off the bottom. I lost it the same day I got it. Haha. Sucks, but it happens. I'll get another one before I go on my next float trip and hit the deeper holes with it.

I'm with you 100%. It would take a monster trout for me to mount it. Something that would push close to a state record. I'm happy enough just getting an awesome picture of it. I only keep a trout if I am going to eat it fresh. I don't freeze trout.

The stripe bass here are different story though. I keep most of them that I catch but really because our Fish and Game Department asks us to and has no limit to the number you can catch and keep. They have taken over a lot of waters here in AZ so I'll keep a decent amount of them that I catch. These are great for a fish fry.

If your not loosing a lure or two you're probably not fishing hard enough, at least that's the way I like to look at it. :)

Oh, I almost forgot, I went fishing last Friday. Fished at night for the stripped bass in Lake Pleasant here in AZ. A buddy of mine and I caught about 8-10 each. Kept a few of them for a fry. Here's a pic. Largest was about 20" (caught by my buddy). My goal this year is to land one over 25". The biggest I've caught out of this lake is 22". The inland state record was caught in the same lake recently and pushed 43" and 30#'s so there's some big ones in there.
