    Him being from Cali, its not that bad. I sit in it everyonce in a while going out to golden in the afternoons, and yes it is slow, but moves lightyears faster than LA or Atlanta traffic.....or saturday morning ski traffic....thats the one that sucks around here

    yep. its one of denvers worst areas ill agree, but compared to some other major cities, its not too terrible

    anyone know for a fact the laws in co about exhausts? i gottaget emmisssions and my exhaust currently dumps b3fore the axle.... heard it has to dump over the axle for the emission people to test it? true?

    Some say that it has to dump after the rear axle, but I don't know if that is true. I know a lot of trucks that dump just after the cab - so as long as it's past the cab, you *should* be OK.

    I am by no means a state official tho :p.

    great area, good people...but i definitely think you have more wildlife than you do citizens haha

    we're thinking next year, if we come back and if i'm still around, to come down early and do some hiking around the area

    drove through a good chunk of pueblo last night and damn is it fuckin GHETTO! once you get near the riverwalk it's not bad but the south end of town is rough

    most certain it has to be over the axle...but not positive...i have an exhaust tip you can put on somehow to extend it if you're close...it's a 3" tip i think? just drill some holes to attach it temporarily

    im pretty sure theyll tell me its a safety concern because its too far forward... thinkin about just fixing it and dumping after the axle.... ugh fuckin politics

    42-4-225. Mufflers - prevention of noise.
    Statute text
    (1) Every motor vehicle subject to registration and operated on a highway shall at all times be equipped with an adequate muffler in constant operation and properly maintained to prevent any excessive or unusual noise, and no such muffler or exhaust system shall be equipped with a cut-off, bypass, or similar device. No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted by the motor of such vehicle above that emitted by the muffler originally installed on the vehicle, and such original muffler shall comply with all of the requirements of this section.

    (1.5) Any commercial vehicle, as defined in section 42-4-235 (1) (a), subject to registration and operated on a highway, that is equipped with an engine compression brake device is required to have a muffler.

    (2) A muffler is a device consisting of a series of chamber or baffle plates or other mechanical design for the purpose of receiving exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine and effective in reducing noise.

    (3) Any person who violates subsection (1) of this section commits a class B traffic infraction. Any person who violates subsection (1.5) of this section shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of five hundred dollars. Fifty percent of any fine for a violation of subsection (1.5) of this section occurring within the corporate limits of a city or town, or within the unincorporated area of a county, shall be transmitted to the treasurer or chief financial officer of said city, town, or county, and the remaining fifty percent shall be transmitted to the state treasurer and credited to the highway users tax fund.

    (4) This section shall not apply to electric motor vehicles.

    I think I'm more confused now, but this makes me think ANY modifications to the exhaust are illegal. Man, there's a TON of ricers out there in violation :rolleyes:.

    But still, I don't see anything about stating the exhaust has to dump after the rear axle...
