Tire low pressure.

K it's time I've asked or said something. But ever sense I put on new tires LT265/70R16 my low tire pressure light stays on!!! Why?

 

did whoever did your tires use the stock stems? They have the built in sensors. Also, make sure you check your spare tire as that has a sensor too

 

1) One (or more) of your tires is low
OR
2) Whoever installed your tires broke a sensor

Does the light flash for ~30 seconds and become solid, or flash once and then become solid? This will greatly help me in answering your question more thoroughly.

 

is the pressure close to the same in all 5 tires and have you tried the reset button?

Yea under the steering wheel. It's been on ever since new tires been on. N no they didn't use stock stems. I bought rims n tires for just winter...

If they didn't put your TPMS (TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSYTEM) in the new rims, then the tire pressure light will stay on, as there is no sensor readings to say your pressures are good. You need to have them installed, or wait till you get your "summers" back on. Tape over the light may help till you can decide. I would also suggest you spend some more time with your manual. It covers the basics pretty well. Best of luck.

The stems in your old wheels were the tpms sensors...without them (or the correct replacement) your system will not function. Do you still have the old tires/wheels? Also, didn't the place that put the new wheels on say something about sending you down the road with the tpms system not working like it was when you drove in?

 

I did have a steal wheel on for winter, I just put my summer rims and tires back on and about to go out for a drive hasn't went off yet so maybe when I start moving it might go out cuz I tied the button n nothing. (can't find manual) no kal tire did not mention nothing!!weird why they didn't!! Nope didn't say nothing!!

See page 32..."Tire pressure warning system". Make sure all tires (including the spare) are at the same psi and follow the instructions for resetting. Hope that helped.
