Hey thanks for all the info! I guess I should have described my ride style a bit more. I like to ride for the workout, being on the bike for a few hrs, So being able to do uphill easily, and a comfy ride on long courses. Im not really into the DH scene and taking huge jumps. Im a small dude too btw...5'5" 155lbs and Im moving to Utah soon too btw. Aestetics are important and the stumpjumper is a nice looking bike. I still love the Occam but $4K to too much.

    Thanks again.

Around SLC, we might try to live around Park City. Coming from ATL the entire area is a suburb compared to what we're use to. a 30 min drive to us is a trip to Costco.

Yeah the whole back of Wasatch range is really nice (Park City-Midway/Heber). The wife is gonna open a couple small businesses in the area. SLC is nice too, clean pretty modern, easy to get around.

I'd kill to live in that area. Rode a trail up the backside of the Wasatch (iirc) from Bountiful Ut a few years ago and loved it. Couldn't breathe however having just flown out from sea level the day before. It was amazing going from warm May weather and ascending to snow covered trail.
We were on our way down to Canyonlands to do White Rim trail.
Check out MTBR.com forum there was a link about someone setting booby traps/trip wires on trails in northern Utah.

Nice looking bike, looking at your bike i notice you have a similar design flaw that my sl3 has. The brake cables sit on top of the fork and rub away at the paint. I used a couple of zipties to pull them off the fork a half inch or so.

Anyone else notice anything like that, is it commonplace?

And yea im guessing looks over function and it doesnt necesarrily hurt anything?

    Yeah.
Yeah, I always wondered the same thing. I asked a guy with routing like that if he had any trouble, and he never had any problems even when muddy, so I guess it isn't a big deal. Running them under the top tube seems a little smarter though.

As far as the front brake cable goes, you can run it on the inside of the fork rather than the outside, which also protects it from catching on something. I haven't noticed mine rubbing any paint off. Make sure the zip tie on the arch is on tight and doesn't allow the cable to slide back and forth as the fork moves.

Cables are made longer so the end user can move things around without stretching them. It sucks because to adjust the length of hydraulics, you have to buy parts and use a cutter to slice them square. Not to mention the need to bleed them too.
