Last week I started hearing a noise coming from underneath the truck. Sounds like it's coming from directly underneath and to my right (transfer case, carrier bearing area) when I'm in the driver seat. I can usually only hear it between 1500-2000 rpm, under 40 mph.

I've taken it to Toyota TWICE. The first time they said they "couldn't duplicate the noise" so there was no problem in their mind. I told them fair enough, I'll come back later and drive the service manager around so he can hear it. I did that today: he heard it and said they'd find what was wrong. Long story short, he tells me they couldn't reproduce the noise "enough" to find any issues. Then has the audacity to tell me it could be my receiver hitch, cause it's loose and rattles a lot.

I've got the noises on video. If anyone can help me with this issue I'd be grateful.

I'm done fooling with these idiotic dealerships around here. My 100k warranty runs out tomorrow, so I'm just going to find out what the problem is and fix it myself if possible. Plus I don't want to entertain his moronic ideas.

Not to rattle your cage... just take the damn thing out, prove them wrong and get them to find and fix your issue. If the noise is there after the hitch is gone they look pretty stupid... however on the off chance that was the cause of the noise.... well...

Nope everything is tight and where it should be. Except for whatever is causing the noise.
