I think we will be even better this year..not that concerned about the secondary - sure we will lose a couple for the first couple of games, but it's not like that first game and mizzou are juggernauts...and damn, the move to put MM as a CB was nothing short of brilliant. I think Jarvis's numbers will go down but not much. Jenkins will be even more of a stud. They all will have that mizzou qb running for dear life, and don't forget that he is coming off of major surgery... Not worried about the D at all...

No smack intended, but I think every Georgia fan is ready to see Marcus Lattimore move onto the pros. This knee injury will probably make him think twice about sticking around for a senior year.

I think Tennessee will be a close 3rd in the east. Their QB is filthy and they stole our RB coach. If they can find some balance with the run game, Tenneseee is going to have a nasty offense. Problem is they wont be able to stop anyone. Also, their recruiting was not great last season. They barely recruited any lineman. That is a terrible idea.

Have to disagree with you on UT...I don't see that dysfunctional group being even fourth - think Vandy will be ahead of them...

I think it's difficult for rb's to have dominating back to back years. Not saying that their talent is diminished, but rather they won't be as surprising...

Oh, and what do you think of Spurrier's comments concerning the record against the west shouldn't count towards the SECe championship? Kind of saying those games are meaningless...

The only thing that worries me about the MIZZOU game is that it will be their first SEC game...and it will be a "big game" feeling in that stadium. Aaron Murray has a tendency to disappear in "big game" situations. I'm not worried about the defense for the first time in a couple years. They should be fine, even with no DBs. MIZZOU's offense won't know what to do with the defensive speed from UGA, so if Murray and Mitchell can put up 21 points, we should have enough to win it.

I was ready for Lattimore to move on after the first game against us. He was pissin me off. haha.

As for UT, I don't think anyone really believes in Dooley. That includes fans and potential recruits. Maybe he can do somethin with em this year and change everyone's perception, but, in my opinion, he doesn't seem like a long term fix.

I dont know if I completely agree with that, but on another site someone suggested this:

All games in your division count as a full point. For all games from the other division the games count as a fraction of a point depending on how many SEC wins they have at the end of the year.

For example, South Carolina would have gotten 5.25 points. (5 wins against SEC east, only beat MSU from the west who was 2/8 in the SEC).
Georgia would have gotten 4.75 points. (4 wins in SEC east, MSU was 2/8 for .25 pts, Auburn was 4/8 for .5 pts, 0 pts from Ole Miss who was 0/8)

It allows the inter division games to still count some, but kind of takes away the luck of the draw element.

Why not half points for cross division games? Teams tend to play harder against their rivals even if their season has gone to shit early on, and teams like Kentucky, MSU, Tenn, and Florida could have been in conference title contention in a couple of other conferences.

In that case, wouldn't it seem that cross division games wouldn't be worth maximum effort? The SEC title is better than the BCS one in reality, but lets say cross division games aren't against a rival per se (as in Auburn is for us) - even though a win would be nice, the fact that it wouldn't count as much seems to bring the mindset of "why should I?"

I can see it now, "come watch FL and AL play for nothing...." woohoo!

Ingram DE, Gilmore CB, Robertson DT, and Allen hybrid S/LB. The only one I think we will really hurt losing will be Allen. He was a huge playmaker the last two years for us. We still have 2 of the 3 DEs that played a lot last year, 3 of the 4 DTs, and most of our CBs from last year. Even with losing two potential 1st round picks from last years team, I think this year's squad could be even better.

I dont think there is much advantage either way. I guess the only reason most would want to keep it is Georgia is normally our 1st SEC game of the year. I think it will be nicer to have it in October because lately it has become a game of more importance in the SEC east.

Traditionally, this game has been very close over the years. By the time this one rolls around, the teams will be up to speed and barring injuries or the like it will be a true test. Will say it now - the winner of this game will be the one in ATL!

I just hope we dont fall flat on our face like the Gamecocks have historically done when much is expected of them. But if we are full speed, and yall are full speed, all I can say is...

I'm not saying I like the idea of basing how much of a win a team earns by beating a team like MSU who had a record of 2-6 in conference. I think a win is a win. I want to give every team the credit they deserve by winning a game. I don't like the idea of giving teams half credits or whatever no matter how many wins the team has. And I think the BCS is a little more important for the SEC, it's reminding all of those other conferences who is the toughest.
