    Hey guys,
Everyone refers to the 3.4L 5vz-fe as a 'V6' but I am pretty sure it is an Inline 6. They have 3 spark plug wires which would make it impossible to be a V6. The fuel is injected just above the intake valves as a multiport injection. Which also couldn't be possible with a V6.

Just wanting to make sure that I have it straight.

3 on one side, 3 on the other.
An inline has all 6 cylinders in a row.

I think you missed some wires, neither I6 or V6 can run on 3 sparkplug wires.

    You have it way wrong.

The intake is called a straight runner intake. It is in the middle on top of the engine, but inside it splits alternating to either side.

The easiest to see would be to replace your spark plugs. You will find 3 on one side, and the other 3 way on the other side.

You are correct though that the plug wires look different on one side than the other, but it does not change it from a V6 to an I-6

They're a V6. I've, like many others, have replaced my own plugs and there's 3 on each side, fuel lines on each side, ect

Yeah, the weirder part is that the plug wires go from the coil packs to the plugs in the other bank.

How does that work? Opposite spark plugs don't fire at the same time?
