Yea that seems like they didn't do it... TSB is 3 leafs + overload if IIRC

 

Did you measure before and after? The TSB will generally give you .5 to 1" of lift.. and i thought it was an additional overload leaf too (3 + 1 overload)..

I say go to dealer and tell them "prove it".. If it turns out they didn't, but said they did.. oh boy.

 

I also thought the TSB was a 4 pack...all the threads when u search TW for the TSB mention a 4 pack. The leaf pack I got is new, there are stickers on them that weren't on my old springs. and they put on 4 new u-bolts all shiny and purty.

my invoice has the correct TSB #035910 but the part #'s for the leafs are slightly different...

The PDF TSB on page 3 has the following part#
482210-04570 Right rear spring
482220-04210 Left rear spring
90117-A0005 U-Bolts

my invoice has the following part#
482210-35A40 Right rear spring
482220-35040 Left rear spring
90117-A0001 U-bolts

The PDF TSB says the U-Bolts listed on my invoice are the "previous" parts... hmmmmmm I wonder... did they just give me a new 3 leaf instead of the real TSB? or are there newer issued TSB leafs with only 3 now instead of 4?

 

I didn't measure but I wish I did. The overload in this 3 pack I got looks like it might be a little thicker than the old one but I'm not sure really. I think they did replace the springs cause mine had surface rust and these look new but I'm just wondering now if they gave me the same 3 pack instead of the real TSB

 

I think just in Canada, ask OZ-t he knows, no matter your springs still blows chunks....

Wait Brennan, you have an '11.. i think those are different.. My guess is you do have a TSB with a stiffer overload..

Yea, they did the same thing to you as they did to me, whatever dumbshit tech did the work didn't actually read the TSB and just decided your original springs were shot, so he just replaced them with a new three pack. The '11 still gets a four pack, you just have to bug the shit out of the dealer to get it done right!

 

Ok, just to clarify, as I've been corrected before, its 3 + 1 overload. I call it a fourpack, but whatever lol.

 

I know the TSB aren't great but it's better than what I had plus I just bought this truck in Dec '11 so it's not even 6mo. old for me and still has full warranty < 10k miles so I was trying to take advantage of what I already paid for

Definitely go for the TSB. I went to the dealer I bought my truck from and they started talking about inspections and crap, so I said no thanks and went to another dealer, and they immediately got me a rental car for 2 days and did the work...I checked and saw 3 and asked the guy and he bullshitted me (didnt actually know at the time, didnt want to pull up TW at the dealer lol) and said it was a stronger 3 pack and the 2011 doesn't call for a 4 pack. Oh, ok, cool, thanks mr. dealer man...Then the next time I load my bike in the back of the truck, I'm hittin bumpstops again and getting pissed lol. So I finally go back to my original dealer and talk to the service guy that's really cool, and I tell him everything that's happened so far and he's like...oh...yea Ok well get that done, since I was in for my 20k service anyways. So then i get a rental car again for like 2 days (ford Focus's suck btw) and they had pretty much sent it back to the other dealer to fix their mistake and then sent it back to my dealer with 4 springs. A little bit of time out of my hands, but whatev, I wasn't out any money.

 

Oh shit, Its Brennan. Didn't pay attention to who was asking lol. Sup man, I rode with you as shotgun camera guy in Pismo . Definitely go for the TSB when you can. Just walk in and make sure to say "harsh ride" and for backup have the TSB printed out. 2011 IS covered, don't let em bullshit you. Every time i talk to a dealer they're like..uhhhhhh i think its only on the '07s and '08s, ive never heard of a '11 having that problem. BULLSHIT.

 

O there has to be at least one time where you pulled me out successfully I really appreciate any help anyone gives

O and yeah TSB= 3 + Overload. I called it a 4 leaf pack as well.

well I am definitely calling and complaining it's just been a bitch cause I researched here on TW dealers that did the TSB without hassle. Someone had posted the Toyota in Manhattan Beach did it no prob, and my wife's parents live real close to there, but I don't. So I went there last weekend when we were down in the area and basically said I went camping with a loaded bed and was bottoming out. He straight up said, "there's a TSB for that and we'll take a look and probably get you the parts" so in my mind I was like sweet! But they had to order the parts so the springs didn't come in till Tues, I made appt for yesterday (wed) and had to have my father in-law take it in/pick up for me since I live in LA and it's a bitch to get down there in traffic on a weekday before they close.

 

Yea it sucks, but its definitely a step up from the original 3 pack.

But yes, Matt, they still suck ass, I noticed (after settling) maybe a half inch of lift, and really, barely any difference when loading the bike. I bottom out less, but my back end was definitely a little stiffer...I dunno.

It was free, so screw it, right lol?
