Well a Civic ran a red light and hit the back side of my truck. The taco took the hit like a champ, the civic not so much. Thankfully the rear bumper took all the hit. I've already pulled the bumper back in place and popped the dent out. Here's the only pics I have.

The guy was going to buy his son a car tonight. He had cash in hand and gave me $1000 cash to not turn it into insurance! I'd say I came out pretty good.

OUCH! OK, your wreck was worst than mine.
Was he going the same direction as you and swerved to try to avoid you or was he on the cross street?

I would still have your truck checked out. And you did call the police and file a report right?

Yeah you have to look close lol it bent in the side bars some but that's all.
Cross street. I was going through a green light and he ran the light hitting the back of me. Yes I did call the police but it didn't do anything to mine except bend the bumper. Everything underneath looks prefect. 5 mins after it happened I was cruising down the interstate at 75 mph and it drove as good as ever.

Looks like the Civic dove under your bumper. Didn't even shatter the headlight! Give some credit to your taller Dakar leafs, too. :)

Yeah I think I came out ahead too. I already have an ARB front bumper sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. This grand can go towards something else!
True. The lift and bumper have already paid for themselves! Lol

Easily lol now this just gives me a reason to high clearance the bed!
It's a good investment. It's weird maybe 10 minutes before it happened my gf and I were talking about my bumpers and how I feel safer with them on there because you never know what happens..then this.. Really weird

Went out and took some pics today. There was a decent sized dent put I popped it out no problem. Now there is only that little ding and where the black mark is its dented a little but you can't really tell until you get within a foot or 2 of the truck. I'm sure I will just high clearance the bed and forget about it. I could have done more damage than this wheeling.

Haha I know and seeing as how I do wheel it I think it is pointless to fix it. I'd hate to fix it then do the same shit on the trail or just end up chopping it all off to high clearance the bed.

Maybe time to tie in the rear beside protection into the frame so it can't be pushed inwards like it was?

Probably a good idea. I will decide sometime this week if Im going to high clearance the bed or just add the piece that extends to the frame.

I called the cops as soon as it happened. The police came and wrote a report and everything. The cop said it was up to us if we wanted to settle it or turn it into insurance. The civic owner said he drives a lot for work and couldn't really afford for his insurance to go up and would rather just give me cash. With the damage I had I would have been perfectly happy with a few hundred but he threw out the number and I obviously couldn't turn down $1000 for the damage I had. I agree though it was very weird but I'm more than happy with the outcome lol

Anyone want to trade there 35's for 255's? I'll just use the money to regear to 5.29's. :D
