ABS light on after audio install

Had a local audio shop intall my previous cars (01 honda accord) sound system into my new Tacoma. They do great work ...however... After getting her back, the ABS light is on. All that was installed was an Alpine head unit, some subs, and a sub amp. Any ideas on how this could have happened. The shop said send them the bill from the dealer. The car has 178 miles on it!!!

It just doesnt seem right... maybe they left a connector unplugged when they turned the car on? That would set a hard ABS code...

But this guy has been in the business for 20 years...don't see why it would be botched...maybe just needs to be reset? Is there any connector behind the audio unit that ties into ABS??

 

Hey it is possible they wired it without disconnecting the battery. We all get ancy and are suppose to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery. So the could of popped a fuse when wiring you HU.

 

If they said to send them the bill from the dealer, in my opinion, it means that they made a mistake and know it very well, they just won't tell you directly. The fact that they accept to pay for it means that they are professionnals and have a good reputation. Send them the bill. There aren't too many shops like that.

 

UPDATE:

The amp was installed underneath the driver seat, and upon sliding the seat back...the corner of the amp hit the yaw sensor rendering it inoperable. Shop is paying for a new yaw sensor and install....

The Same Thing Happen To Me . Just Disconnect The Battery And It Will Go Off.

 

Negative, the sensor seems to have been damaged internally (shock or bump?). Tried hard-clearing the code with OB2 scanner and it stays on solid...so they ordered a sensor for me...

What's the "yaw" sensor?

 

Can someone explain to me what this sensor is under the driver's seat and what it has to do with ABS? Is there a similar sensor under the passenger's seat? I'm asking because I'm having a similar problem with a CB amp installation.

YAW or Critical Velicity Skid/Scuff(same thing) is caused by the rear tires tracking outside the front tires - Normally related to vehicle collisions. you'll see it when the tires are still rotating but instead of moving in a straight line they are moving sideways(side slipping). its kindalike fishtailing or power sliding.

I'm assuming the sensor can read G force/Body roll for the ABS/VSC and Airbag and allows the vehicle to help regain control to you dont roll it.. or worse, crash it.
