    That was when I didn't have a tool box in the back and drove ~150 round trip to Walterboro with cruise. The road is flat for the most part so once I hit the highway it's just 60 mph cruise on and ride. Now with the tool box I'm seeing consistent 2-3 mph drop.

    :eek: I don't even see how thats possible! I think i've basically got about the same truck as you I just don't have cruise. You can see what i'm averaging by my fuelly and the best i've ever done was just over 20 mpg's. I always fill up with 1/4th tank left. No way I'd ever see that many miles on a tank. Same size tires too! Makes no since to me...:(

    2009 4WD Reg cab Taco. Keepin it simple.
    So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
    I can get a little over 300 miles but I have not taken it down to dry or near dry. I usually gas up and 1/4 and I'm close to 300 driven.

    This is what I got today...

    14.1 Gallons = 22.1 MPG. Of that 311 miles the first 85 was at 75 mph, no stops. The rest was on US highways with a 65 mph speed limit and a dozen or so little towns where the speed went down to 30-40. Kept it on cruise all day long also.

    As you can see I still had over a 1/4 tank left but that last quarter goes VERY quick! Being in the panhandle of Oklahoma I didn't want to chance it.

    Your automatic tranny also probably helps. If I cruise the interstate at 75 I struggle to get 20 mph. Today at 65 mph (which is about -400 rpm) I easily got 22. At 60 mph and with an auto tranny I can easily see you getting that many miles on a tank.

    Maybe not... I had a First Gen, but don't recall the exacts on it...

    The Second Gens have 3 gallons in the tank when the needle is on Empty, and 8 gallons when the needle is on the 1/4 tank line.
