    I would like them to first take the speculation out of it. Require anyone who buys oil to take delivery of the oil drums. That would curb a lot of the speculation. Then let Supply and demand really take over.

    Second, The old that comes from the US and Canada doesn't cost the $100+ per barrel it is going for. Sell it to us here in the US and Canada and then to the world market. Keep out economies strong and let the rest of the world suffer.

    Much of the differences in prices per gallon from state to state is contributed to the different amount of tax added by the states to each gallon.

    Taxes... and the fact that California CARB requires 22 different specific blends depending on which "pollution control area" the fuel is being sold in.

    That's why gas can be as much as $0.30 cheaper at stations owned by the same franchisee only blocks apart.
