Quick question about what this means

I apologize in advance for a dumb quetion. So I was reading over a build an it's not the first one I come across with but what does it mean when someone puts a CB drop kit or something like that?

OME makes one. You can buy it through toytec. If memory serves correctly, its like $14 or something. Helped me with my vibes.

I do feel some vibrations in the steering wheel and stuff when I accelerate but never paid to much attention or though to much. Will that get rid of that kind of vibration or is it for more aggressive kind of vibration?

 

If it's through the steering wheel, it's most likely coming from the front end in which case this won't help. If vibes are felt in the floor boards or the seat, then it's probably coming from the rear in which case the CB drop kit might help some.

 

Interesting, brb I'm ganna go for a drive and see where exactly is the vibration coming from.

 

I think it's mainly on my gass pedal and my steering wheel and I also notice that when press on my brakes my streering wheel pulls to the right ALOT, any ideas on why it's doing that too...

Ps: I just changed the break pads, rotors and both shoes.

 

Sounds like wheel balance or alignment

 

I've taken it to two different places twice and still the same, I guess I just got tired on paying $90ish for an illignment

 

x2 That's what I was thinking. Steering wheel shake is usually due to out of balance tires or warped rotors or both together.

I had to get new tires to get rid of my steering wheel shake. Between 55-65 it felt like I was riding in a blender.

 

Lol yea same here I'm going to get them re aligned then and check the tires. third time should be the charm then right lol

 

Hopefully. Have you had your tires road force balanced? I did that when I balanced mine. Did it myself at work so it was free otherwise I wouldn't have.

The only other thing I can think of for vibrations is a bent wheel. But that is the least likely scenario.

Not to ask a dumb question but what's road force balance? I'm assuming it's not like a regular tire balance is it?

 

You are correct. The road force balancer puts pressure on the tire tread with a roller (to simulate road pressure) and measures the balance that way. If the tire is too out of balance then the Tech will remount the tire on the rim, about 180 degrees from how it was before and recheck, until it has a better outcome. It's hard to explain, but if you watched it being done you could see what was going on.

Oh ok well I'll give the alignment a try then the force road one and hope for the best...Thanks I just hope the vibration and the brake problem goes away
