No. I do it the expensive way. I go to Toyota and have them do it as part of the service I get when I paid for the truck.

 

Am I wrong or is this a paper funnel, a bag to 'hold the oil' and gloves? What is the point of this kit?

I use Mobil 1 and OEM filters. Autozone takes back the spent oil and disposes of it for free.

 

That's crazy...why not just buy a case of filters from the dealer (or online)and the oil at wallyworld? The rest of that crap (gloves, paper funnel, etc) is just fluff. $34.50 for a cabin air filter...wow!!

That site doesn't work with the iPad. I can't comment other than I got a Fram cabin filter with arm and hammer infused and odor shield for like $17. Smells great when I turn on the ac and I think it may keep the mice away too.

 

I see how it works. You build a kit for the tacoma and it comes with the box, funnel, glove, etc as throw ins. A 5 quart kit of synthetic blend Kendall GT-1 with a premium guard oil filter is $22.84 and ships for free. The cabin filter, as I see it, is $9.94. The air filter for the V6 is $13.42. Doesn't look like they have the air filter for the 4 cylinder.

I still think you're better off going to Autozone, getting the 5+ jugs of oil, a plastic funnel, a plastic oil catch pan with the screen to catch your drain plug and OEM filters.

The plastic funnel and catch pan get reused every oil change and you're not left with an oil soaked bag to get rid of. You drain the oil from the catch pan back into the 5+ quart jug and Autozone will take it back and dispose of it.

 

Interesting concept. The pouches would definitely use less plastic. But I figure I already use less using a 5 qt container vs 5 x 1 qts. But I can't imagine they can stay in business. Just can't be enough demand.

 

Yes, I have tried an "Oil Change"

 

I've never had any luck changing my oil, so I just drain it, and put new stuff in.

On that note, how many shrinks does it take to change oil?
