Alright guys I'm considering building more roof rack like the one that's on my truck. This is just to gauge interest to see if it's worth my time.

The differences will be that the rack will be a foot longer and be shipped in three pieces. And will be available as a kit where you weld everything together or semi assembled where only the supports will need to be welded on.
4 Light tabs will be included each additional tab will be 3 dollars

Powder coating is an option at an additional cost.
All Parts would be shipped Primed.

I'm still working out shipping prices with fastenal but they should be sub $150 coast to coast.

    A) Basket will be 42" wide 52" long and 6" tall ( 5" usable) Top of the basket will be 4" shorter than over all length to accommodate lights.

    B) front support hoop will be able to be bolted into the bed rail

    C) Rear support hoop will also be able to be bolted into the bed rails.

The rack will be entirely removable and not take up any bed space. You will still be able to put a sheet of 4'x8' plywood in the back.

Pricing SHOULD be somewhere in the neighborhood of $750+ not set in stone yet.

here are a few pictures of the rack installed

Nice concept. Would look beefier with thicker supports and with round tubing for the rack instead of that square tube.

If I had a bed, I'd go for one.

I'll edit the poll thanks for your input. The price would go up if round is used I only have dies for 1 1/4" and 1 3/4" the supports will be .120 wall.

That's just a ballpark number and includes powder coating, if it turns out to be less than that then the price will change. I'm pretty sure All-pro, GoRhino are the only other company offering a rack like this without going custom built.

If you can get it for 400 then go for it.

Sweet. Looks like I could still make a toolbox work with that too.

I like the design. However would not be compatable with my boat rack.

i like your design foundation. for myself, i would be interested in a bed rack. similar basket, with round tubing, but i would want it to sit lower hovering over the bed.

    you're on the right track!

I'm interested. Could you modify it so that it could fit in an older Toyota pickup?

Anything is possible. I'd need the truck to get dimensions off of though. since you're in the relative area I'm sure we could work out a pickup/drop off and avoid shipping all together.
