but your thread got to a point where there was nothing but BS talk so I thought this was a good idea. if you don't like it panda then tell the mods to delete it. I didn't create this thread to take away from your thread but to have members share ideas, thoughts on upcoming equipment, questions they may have...ETC. so again if having this thread is a bother to you then have the mods delete it.

Are you wanting a full on photo editing program? or just some quick fixes? for quick fixes iPhoto works wonderfully or even snapseed. snapseed was originally designed for iPhone and iPad but the designers were able to create a Mac version of their program. for a full program I've heard lightroom does well or adobe CS5 but some of those full editing programs go for hundreds of bucks!

the article mentioned that Nikon will release two more camera bodies in 2012, you think those will be DX format bodies? also do you think a budget FX body would be worth it? even with the ability to change from FX format to DX format within the settings.

I really don't see Nikon coming out with another FX body.

You can still get the D700 at some places and the D800 is a good deal for the money IMO.

Any Nikon FX camera has the Crop Mode ability

cool thanks for your input, I didn't know FX format had the crop mode ability! just thought a budget FX body would of been nice for us enthusiasts who can't afford a 6-7 thousand dollar camera!

Only Nikon does the crop mode

The D800 is a good deal at $3k, the D700 was $2700 before the D800 was released (now its $2300)

Each has their pros and cons. Canon generally out of the box takes some amazing sharp pictures, but the colors are typically flat in my experience. Canon cameras are generally a pain in the butt to navigate IME.

Nikon on the other hand, every setting you need is right at your finger tips. The colors are bold, but often times too bold. Reds are horrible on my D80, but I think the benefits outweigh the cons, so I choose Nikon.
