I know it is old hat now since many have done this mod. I just wanted to post it anyway. Finally finished last night. I tapped into a low beam fuse under the hood in the main fuse panel instead of splicing into the high beam wire (as suggested in the paperwork). I realized last night that they go off when I put on the high beams so I'll tap into a empty fuse holder I found that is hot all the time.
I bought the 500 FF's. While driving around last night checking them out, they aren't all that bright like I was expecting. I am sure being behind the grill defuses some of the beam. I am sure that when I can use the fogs, 500's and the high beams, it will be as bright as I need.

I also attached pics of how I got the wires through the firewall. I stumbled across the little "finger" that was there. All you have to do is cut the end off and the wires feed right through, no struggle.

Looks good! I ended up having to cut a hole in the rubber grommet because of some other wires that I had previously ran through the little nipple/finger. How nice of Toyota to give us a convenient spot to run wires through the firewall!:)

Fog lamps on anytime would be a great next mod. There is plenty of info on TW as many members have done this and provided write ups for the rest of us.

I haven't done that mod yet because I got pulled over for having my fogs on with my high beams and driving lights at the same time in my previous vehicle. I forgot to turn the fogs off and sure enough a state patrolman was on the side of a country road late at night when I came around a corner. I don't want that to happen again as I talked my way out of it, next time that might not work so well.

    Thanks Guys..... I like it!

Funny thing at work today, my Boss saw my truck and thought I was making it, well let's just he didn't have a politially correct comment about it. LOL Oh well, it's not his. IMO it's mine and I'll do what I think is cool.

    Keep on modding!
