WHEEL SPACER QUESTION

Would like to push my stock rims out a little from inside the fenders. Anyone know what wheel spacers are the best, and how many inches i need? thanks for a sugjestions.

I've got All-Pro 1" spacers on my truck and have had no problems. Make sure you get good insructions before installing them to avoid the common problems.

 

What kind of problems? im new to this wheel spacer thing.

 

You want to make sure that they are hubcentric. If not, they may not be centered when you install them and will be off-balance causing vibration just like an off-balance tire. How to tighten the nuts and use of loc-tite is important - you don't want your wheel to come off on the highway.
Also, there are cheap ones on e-bay that might be risky from a safety standpoint. The Spidertrax and All-pro brandnames have proofed themselves to be good quality.

 

^^^What this man said. Some say red, some say blue on the loctite. I used blue, and I would say either is fine on clean threads. 85 ft lbs of torque all around (using an actual torque wrench). Don't cut any corners. They are very safe if installed correctly.

If you want flush tire:fender I think 1" is the way to go. If you want just past flush then the Spidertrax 1.25" is it. I went with the 1.25" and there are pics in my gallery if you wanna check it out.

 

If you have the stock Alloy wheels, then your best bet is the SpiderTrax 1.25" spacers. They are Hub-Centric to work with factory wheels.

 

The all-pro spacers are also hubcentric

Will the 1.25 spider trax cause rubbing with no lift on stock wheels with a 265/75/16 tire?

 

I just put on All-Pro 1.5" spacers, no lift on the truck and stock wheels... I really like the look of the wider stance so far....Haven't noticed any rubbing yet

 

Question.

I'm rubbing on lower control arm and want to add spacers to the front. Do i need to add them to the rear also? The only reason i ask is i know i will be cutting the fender flare more after they are installed, and i dont want to cut the rear anymore if i dont have to. Not to mention that each pair are 100 bucks.

 

I have 1.25 spidertrax in the front and back, I have 265/75/16 tires and I don't rub on the flare itself but I rub on the black plastic piece (on the passenger side I hunk it has the intake vent). It really depends on your tires, I never had rubbing on control arm so you must have some larger tires.

 

My tires stick out 4 inches already... And I don't have spacers lol

 

You only need to have them on the same axle. Fronts or rears. I prefer both to align them, but its not necessary at all.

 

I have Spidertrax 1.25". I like them better tha nthe AllPro since htey have an anodized finish on them to help prevent corrosion. I live in the salt belt during the winter and its hard on the under carriage.

You may have to do some trimming when you push them out with spacers, as it allows the tires to be in places they weren't when spaced out. Just do it and check it. I have larger tires than stock (275/70/R17) and needed to trim the front mud flap (looks more like a drain) in the front wheel wells.
