i just sprayed my shorts a little. I wouldnt put load range E on your truck though. Load range E is a 10 ply tire and is so much heavier than a regular tire. My thing is that it may cause premature differential wear due to the extra weight it must spin. I work at a tire shop and thats what i was told. I can honestly tell you that im sure some of that is true, but im not sure how much of that is sales driven.

I've never had any premature wear - none that I'm aware of anyway - only my experience though. My 99 Prerunner has had similar tires on it for 150,000 miles with no issues.

Driving conditions are the determining factor for me. Some of the roads in my area are covered with sharp, jagged granite rocks - some the size of baseballs which just destroys ordinary tires. I also tow trailers pretty often too - so the heavy duty tires work well for me.

Most of the pickups in my area run 10-ply (farmers and ranchers) and half the inventory at my local tire shop seems to be 10-ply ATs.

From a physics perspective 5-10 extra pounds on a vehicle that weighs over 4000 pounds seems statistically insignificant too.

I won't say that I'm right and you're wrong - because we all have our own opinions and personal experiences - and that's what I love about forums! ;)

Love those. Super jealous. I'm trying to talk my non into buying the TT FJ they have here just so I can steal her wheels. Haha

$250 a wheel for the black isn't too bad.. but yeah, still a very expensive wheel. I have to agree with OP, ever since I saw them on a Taco I just haven't found another wheel that looks that good on it.

It's a good looking wheel. Even if you lived close to someone that powdercoated the silver ones, the time and trouble may not be worth your time to negate the cost. The only thing that would be better is if they were anthracite. (I've called this guy and there is nothing in the works).

Those are awesome OP and will look rad on your SSM. Worth every penny.
In fact I'm look'n to get my DC2s pc'd when I'm ready for tires and I wanted something a little bit darker than anthracite, so graphite is my best guess so far..........
