Synthetic oil/lubes used throughout. NGK Iridium Lazer 100K spark plugs. Rear differential breather extension modification. Toyota front skid plate, roof rack, bed mat, chrome exhaust exhaust. Runs like new!
The $40 kit to fix the squeaky leaf springs is not covered even under a Toyota Platinum Extended Warranty. "This is a fact." You must complain and demand the dealer fix the problem within the 3 yr(means date of initial sale from new) or 36k mile; whichever comes first.

I didn't want you to walk into any surprises at the dealer. Decide now if you want to buy the kit (may have to be ordered) and request a quote via phone for replacing the parts needed. You may decide to do it yourself and/or have it done outside of the dealership since they charge approx $106.00 per hour and up depending on your region. Good luck.

Really? Yet they replaced my HU that decided to turn off one day, stay off for 3 days, come back on, only to go off for a week.

    Thanks for the heads up.

If you like wasting your time (which is money) go for it. The 4 piece factory repair kit is the only way to do it once and do it right. Easy/fast to install too. I off road and get my truck air born and they hold up great.
I wouldn't waste my time writing to you if I thought otherwise. Good luck.

Make sure you post to others how much time you wasted playing w/fire hose, glue, further problems (going to attact dirt) and how long the repair lasted, so they don't follow your lead. Thanks.

I looked through this thread after having this same problem the past couple of months. Today I took my taco through a carwash, which included an undercarriage power wash, and the squeaking is gone! Hopefully this isn't a temporary fix and actually got rid of the squeaking in the long run

Grit getting caught between the leafs is a common cause of noise

I used the bike tire fix at first, but came back after a month or two. I just replaced them with Toyota's "hockey pucks" today and have much more confidence in them. The bike tires were ground down to almost nothing at the main pressure point. Toyota's spacer kit is made of a very strong rubber which should last much, much longer.

Why not just paint some DIY waxoil rustproofing on it (chainsaw oil, mineral spirits, melted paraffin). Keeps rust off and lubes at the same time. Zero squeaks.

Did the DIY waxoil thing on the undercarriage of my 2008 about 15 months ago. Since then... zero squeaks, zero rust (where the material was applied, including inside the rear chrome bumper...a.k.a. rustville). And, I live in the 'salt belt' Northeast to boot.

Try the oil-up...it's much cheaper than a a trip to a psychiatrist for squeak insanity treatment.

Thank you!!!! Got this done tonight, what a difference! Although, I did it a little bit different. I'm sorry if what I am about to say is a repost

When putting in the bike tube I noticed there was a small plastic insert, so what I did was shoved it into the bike tube and then cut a hole to let the stem thing stick out and go back into a hole to keep the tube in place rather then super glue. Pic here \/\/\/

I also did both c clips as I found that the one closest to the front of the truck wasnt the one squeaking for me, it was the one closest to the back of the truck. Pics here \/\/\/\/

Sorry for the crappy iphone pictures

P.S. Make sure that you jack up the truck like the OP said and clean the c clips. And make sure that you have a big enought jack
