You can't find Amsoil unless you order it and look on your front porch. It's #1. My 2.7 would tick for a sec. or two at start up, after switching to Amsoil it does not tick. Amsoil has a high film strength and other pluses. I changed out every fluid in the truck including clutch fluid. Let me sign you up as an Amsoil Preferred Customer. wadester10@hotmail.com

any good and real synth is fine. I never use dino oil anymore since about 15 years ago when I pulled the valve covers off one of my trucks and saw what had to be the black death goop all over everything.
And dont believe every blackstone analysis you read about online, since you never know the history of the engine that oil is pulled from. Too many variables and unreliable information online to believe everything your hear and read about oils, and some people take it too seriously for some reason.
Ive contributed to a LOT of car and truck forums over the years, and I swear there must be a lot of oil company reps and lurkers out there ready to trash everyone elses oil.

The only synthetic oil I ever saw a noticeable improvement in gas mileage was on my 3.5l sienna after I switched from mobil one to AMSOIL....plan to use it also on the new taco I just ordered.

    Amsoil is good.
RP doesn't hold viscosity any better than Castrol GTX.

The old joke is RP spends more money on the purple dye than they do on the base stocks.

Just curious. Why would you spend 2-3X for Amsoil. It looks like a pyramid scheme 2 me. Every body make a % and you pay for it.

with amsoil I was comfortable with 10k intervals (supposedly approved for 25k intervals in light duty applications) and Blackstone report was good also fwiw. but I got tired of ordering so recently switched to mobil1

Blackstone was good with 25k ? I don't think I'd be comfortable with 25k even with the Blackstone but that's just me.

    Amsoil /= Amway

You don't have to buy from the evangelist down the street like you do with Amway.
    Amsoil will sell direct.
For $20/year or $10 for 6 months, you can be a "preferred customer" and order direct with dealer pricing.

The dealer pricing saves a fair amount, but for me it was only worth it when I had my Duramax, running through 10 quarts of motor oil and 1 quart of ATF every 2-3 months. When I was paying for the membership, I ran Amsoil in my motorcycle and wife's car as well. With the discounted price, once shipping was added, the price was about the same as Mobil-1... but I was stuck with Amsoil because Mobil was changing the formulation of their TurboDiesel product and my needed 5w40 was not available for over 6 months.

Once I got rid of the truck and into a company car, I was down to 4 quarts in the bike every 4 months and 4 quarts in the Rav4 every 3 months. The savings on the product no longer justified the $20.
I found a local bike accessory shop that sold Amsoil MCV at a couple of bucks more (for a gallon) than M1 V-Twin, so I'd continue to use that in the bike if she had it in stock, but I went back to M1 for the Rav4, and that's what I used in the Tacoma.

I've used Amsoil since 1995. First full synthetic on the market, and the best. Pricey, but you only change it once a year for general use at about $10 per quart (the "Signature Series"). That's pretty good dollar-wise. $15 for their filters to match once a year.

Full synthetic is the best way to go no matter the brand, especially if you're in cold-weather. The cold startups are soooooo much smoother and quieter. No listening to the valves rattle for 5 seconds at 0 F or below, and the starter doesn't strain to crank the motor. The cold shifting is much smoother also, big difference.
