One reason I will always have a home warranty Keith... case in point. With the link I sent you, they have a thing for mismatched systems to the house. Such as an AC unit that isn't set to cover the full sq footage.

You have some bad air leaks in your house

Or, is your thermostat battery powered or hardwired? Might be batteries going dead also.

Call them, they set up the service call. You just have to pay the co-pay on whatever they find. I think mine for the AC unit was 200 total for replacement out of the 2k it cost.

sounds like a bad thermostat, surprised no one has said that yet ;). I'd try swapping out the thermostat before calling in an HVAC guy. he'll charge you a few hundred bucks to do swap it out, you could do it yourself for ~$60. if that doesn't make a difference, return the thermostat and call in an HVAC guy.

Check the batteries on the thermo. The 4 wires are what go down to your AC/heat/fan. Yes, you would have to move those somewhere else and it would be difficult in an already wired house.

Depends on what kind of system you have. The c terminal is the power terminal, which you shouldn't have since you have batteries. Change the batteries first, then retry. Then change thermo.

Might have to wait a day to see if it helps. Is it an older thermostat or does it look brand new?

R is the power to the thermostat
C is the neutral used for the display, better than using batteries
    G is the fan
    Y is call for cooling
W is the call for heat

Keef, one thing to look into before replacing anything and I don't think it has been mentioned. Some of the digital thermostats will have a setting where you can adjust the (I forget what they call it) temperature difference before the unit kicks in. Like it will only kick in if the temp changes at least 3 degrees from the set temp. or 2 degrees from the set temp. Yours may be set really low requiring it to kick in quite often. Worth a shot, it's free to check out :p

    Good morning Dave.

Toby is OK. HE has been biting people. He gets scared and nips at people. It is rather concerning. I am going to speak to a trainer today to see what, if anything, can be done about it. If we cannot fix this, we cannot keep him.

Sorry to hear that John. Our rescued beagle has biting issues on occasion. We cannot take food away from him without him trying to bite. Since we have no kids at home, we decided it was worth the trouble to deal with it. My guess is he was with a pack before we got him and had to fight for his food, since we found him wandering outside, real dirty and smelly. As he's gotten older, this has become not so much of a problem. Since he has two bad legs, and is old, we don't ever hit him, just yell at him. I hope you can get this resolved, or at least find a suitable home for him if not. Good luck.

Thanks Dave. HE does not bite out of aggression, it is clearly out of fear. He does not bother us, but we are afraid when we have people over. We had a similar issue with Piggy and do not want to go through that again. With teenagers, we constantly have people over the house, obviously, we cannot have him biting kids.
