    hell yea you can man!

    fills tires WAY faster too.

and well..a tank and regulator plus the solenoids..i think its a bit more pricey..and you have to fill the tank. But filling it is pretty cheap and you literally get like THOUSANDS of uses with a locker from a 10lb tank. And lots of tire refills.

The route im gonna go..don't have to beef up the electrical system. Not that OBA is bad, i was gonna do that till i saw the CO2 thing.

Can you elaborate on the CO2 system? Maybe share a link so I can see what you're talking about? I badly want on board air in the future, but that sounds like an interesting alternative...

I would imagine a tank like that would freeze up quite a bit. Woulnt even try to inflate tires with it. Id stick with compressed air.

I replaced my OEM all weather floor mats with some Black Husky liners. Looks much better and hopefully these wont develop a hole in them from my right foot heel !

    Yea sure man.

ARB makes a CO2 kit, just google it. Its really just an air manifold to mout the solenoids to and direct the flow of CO2.

you connect it literally just like an OBA system after that. It works amazing from what i have read and been told. Saw it first done on ExpoP.

then you mount up a tank(10,15,20lb) to the truck somewhere, run your lines, hook em up, then you just have to leave the tank open when you want to run the lockers. It doesn't leak out if you put the lines in right. and like i said before, literally THOUSANDS of articulations of the lockers and plenty of tire fills.

    lol uhh...no..

Co2 is a great way to fill tires. It'll do a full 33x12.5 from 15 to 35psi in like 20-30 seconds. Its actually getting quite popular. just look up Powertank. Company dedicated to just CO2 stuff.

AND actually Co2 leaves no condensation unlike an OBA system where you should have a condensation collection point and drain. Its a completely dry system.

I've been running a portable CO2 tank for years. Hard to beat the convenience and ability to fill tires quickly. With a good regulator they don't freeze up. Only downside to portable CO2 is needing to refill the tank on occasion. I've only had one time that I ran out of CO2 out on the trail. not a big deal but a dedicated tank and compressor wouldn't have done that.

In spite of the drawback, I'm a major fan of CO2. I got an old beverage tank for free from a buddy that owns a conveneint store and paid $40 for the regulator. Power tanks are great but are expensive. If you can track down a beverage tank (make sure it's been hydro tested) you can have a CO2 setup for pretty cheap.

The nice thing about my CO2 setup is that I can run it in the Tacoma or in my Land Cruiser. A dedicated tank and compressor can't do that. Not a big deal if you only have one truck but since I have two it's nice to be able to move it depending on which truck I'm taking.

Mounted in the Tacoma with the shell on.

Shot of the adjustable regulator. Allows me to adjust pressure in case I want to run air tools etc.

A retarded question, but where do you get these tanks filled? My concern was not being able to find a place to fill it when I needed. Any ideas as to how much it costs to fill a tank?

    Thanks Adam

    looks like a great setup!

i was always curious if i could just go pick up a CO2 tank. Sounds like what im gonna do :D

There are usually gas places all over that supply oxygen and CO2 and other gases for welding and hospital stuff. If Powell has a place you can get it filled..were ever you are better lol

Not retarded...most places that refill fire extinguishers can do CO2 tanks. Usually around $10 - 20 bucks, so its cheap.

Mine's a 20# tank. good size IMO. the 10# is a more compact size but your run out of gas too quickly.

Rotated my tires Sunday afternoon. Snapped a stud off and there were several cross threaded and/or overtorqued. That's what I get for getting tires put on at a commercial truck tire shop. I think every damn stud has some degree of damage. Now I need to get new studs and lugs all the way around.
