That was more an attempt to change the subject, versus a Braves knock. Was trying to help stop the bromance that was occurring. :D

does anyone know how much weight a canopy can hold on top? it has the rails for the roof rack but want to build my own rack on top OR.... *drum roll* make a platform for a tent!
will the canopy support the weight ?

    I'd imagine it's topper specific.

But I honestly would not feel comfortable sleeping on top of it with the weight of the platform and myself (and hopefully a lady)

just make a skeleton, no need for an entire platform, the struts would brace it

thinking on top of the topper... the camper does have the rails for it's own roof rack. so with that wouldn't it be able to support some sort of weight?

i'll put the roof rack rails on and then the platform (4x8 plywood sized)

I would contact Leer or Thule and ask them. They would be able to give you a more solid answer....

I'm sure a fiberglass topper has plenty of strength for you to sleep on it (although I do not know how much a RTT normally weighs). However, the rails themselves may not be built to handle that load. Like someone already said, I'd contact the cap manufacturer to find out for sure what the weight bearing limit of the factory rails is.
