Have a set of those and when your on the trail and need to clip back in and go they are a pain. Yakes to much thought and attention, to make sure theyre flipped over the correct way. But when your casually riding they work well with your regular shoes.

If i did it again i wouldnt buy ones that werent clipless connections on both sides

bone stock save for the block lift that came on it with the open country m/t.
it's true. Swear by it, won't look back. Up to 40% better pedal stroke, what's not to like?

I definitely agree with Canada. Totally worth it!!! I would just stay away from trails that are overly technical for your first couple of rides because it is 99% guaranteed that you will fall over at least a few times.

    Yeah.
I was hesitant about clipless at first myself -- years ago I got a new Trek 930 with toe clips installed and a buddy talked me into leaving them on. I came home with black and blue forearms and ripped those suckers off immediately. Clipless is tons better and doesn't take long to get used to. I fell over in the parking lot once, and a couple of times on long steep climbs when my momentum suddenly stopped, but these were low-speed tipovers.

Just start out with them adjusted really loose -- I still ride mine that way, but I don't unclip accidentally much. I had a freeride bike with flats on it, and I have to say that I feel more confident with clipless on choppy downhills than I do with flats -- your feet don't bounce off the pedals with clipless.

But, good flats with good FiveTen shoes works really well, too.

I'm working my way to clipless now. I got the mountain bike shoes last week and I'll be getting a set of these soon. I'll be able to use them if I want or use the flat side if I want.

The Enduro peddled like a fat pig on anything with an incline, it felt much heavier than a 31lb bike. So I took it back and got this. Much happier.

I need to join the weight weenie crowd, all this sub 28 stuff has me jealous. Thinking of going tubeless. Got a full weekend of riding not sure if there are bugs to be worked out when you do the conversions. Read a little on it, sounds like more people rave about it than have anything bad to say.

Riding Blackrock Friday, Syncline Saturday and Sandy Ridge Sunday...got a bent derailleur and a flat right now, lol. I gotta do some work tomorrow, and fork out a little $$...this was the spare derailleur.

I am planning on going tubeless.. I am just waiting to see if I want to run the tires I have currently or go with something else.

Let me know how it goes if you do it.

    Yeah.
I converted my EX9 to tubeless and love it -- I used to have to run 40psi to keep from pinch flatting, now I run 32psi. Traction is SO much better. I am running the Bontrager XR4 TLR tire on DT Swiss M1800 rims. I ride some pretty rough trails and thought I would have torn a sidewall by now, but so far it has been one of the best upgrades I have tried.

I've owned this for about a month now. This thing really turns heads. The category is fatbike; intended for snow & sand. It's heavier & slower but still a lot of fun to ride! The overall diameter of the wheel is the same as my tacoma's stock rims & tires. I don't really do any technical riding mostly roads & gravel trails.

Is that the Pugsley or one of the newer wider versions? I want a Moonlander...fatbikes are just rad.

Thought about going tubeless, but figure since I don't race (and have 40lbs post surgery weight to lose), it's probabably more hassle and maintenace than it's worth for me. It's like someone told me about XTR, great if you race, but too finicky and high maintenance for your average weekend warrior. Course, I'm running X.0...

I am actually in Spokane, so a ways from Portland. I bet you have great riding out there. If you are ever out this way, let me know, we have lots of good riding out here.
