Thanks. Maybe I need to find a more discreet place to park. ;)

It is indeed a sticker from Sockmonkey. I contacted him and told him I needed a custom size TRD logo. Gave him my specs and he put them together for me. Quick and quality work from Sockmonkey.

I am probably in the 3.5"-4" lift range in the rear. Honestly I'm not exactly sure, but the rear Dakars are supposed to add 2.5" of lift, the AAL adds another .75" and the AllPro shackles are another 1"-1.5".

Hey Box, sent you a PM on your bed rack. Don't know if you were still looking at building those or not.

Yeah sorry. Life has been uber crazy and I'm seriously short on time. I still want to build bed racks, but just have to get past a few things first. Working 3 jobs doesn't help.

been on for almost 2 years now with no issues.

Skids are all done. Finished up the belly skid today. Pleased with how it turned out. Pretty beefy 2" crossmember at the back mounted to the frame with the Ruffstuff brackets. 3/16" plate, with a couple reinforcement ribs in the middle. Sides are at about a 60* angle instead of 90* to help protect the cat a little better and hopefully help to slide off rocks a bit better.

There is about 1/2" of clearance under the tcase. Should be enough room to not make contact but about as high and tight as I dared. Nothing is lower than the factory crossmember. Stoked to have fully protection now with the exception of the gas tank.

From the side you can see that it's all flush with the factory crossmember with carriage bolts on the tranny and tcase skid to slide over rocks better.

    _MG_6450_9b3bcd92a3d69f2038ea6cf039c454c81c8185ee.jpg

From the rear. Angled the rear of the skid up to help slide in reverse rather than get hung up on the new crossmember. You can see the Ruffstuff brackets on the frame in this shot. They are beefy!

Shot of the full skids from the back.

Nice, I really like those ruffstuff brackets. I think I'll have to change mine to something similar.

Box, what paint do you use on your bumper and sliders? do you primer them or prep them in any way. Finally getting around to ordering my tg low profile and like the way yours looks, powder coated like. easy to touch up!

Cleaned them off with brake cleaner, sprayed them with Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer (from my experience it has better adhesion), and final color is Rustoleum Satin Finish spraypaint. The Satin finish is very close to the look of powdercoat.

I thought I read up on your co2 system in another thread and can't find it now. Which type of tank and regulator do you have? I think I'll be more impressed with a co2 set up than the 12v oba

Hows your alternator been holding up with the snorkel? Ever thought of fabbing up a mud protector for it?

I'm just using a steel beverage tank from a buddy that owns a local convenient store. I paid $40 for an adjustable regulator that I got at the place that fills the tank.

I'm confused. I don't see how the snorkel is going to affect the alternator. To answer your question, the alternator has been fine, and I see no need for a mud protector. Not even sure what you're talking about.

Box, i think he meant to ask if u were using the snorkel in deep water, how does your alternator hold up to the water and mud? but most people don't realize there are other benefits to the snorkel. I've only had mine up to the alternator in water once, don't plan on doin it again for other reasons but my alternator is fine....

That makes sense. I haven't added any addition protection to the distributor. So far so good. The snorkel is cheap insurance against hydrolock and I try to be smart about it. I try to have the truck setup to handle whatever scenario I might get myself into, including deep water, but I definitely don't go looking for it. Deep water crossings can be fun and exciting but obviously carry some risk. I've played in deep water in other trucks I've had and it's just not something I try to get myself into. If I have to cross deep water, then fine, but if I don't, I won't.
