When I was 16 and stupid...

My friend, driver, and I pulled up to a fancy reception hall where they host/cater weddings and such events. For years I always said I was going to swim through the fountain (humungous Vegas-esque gaudy feature) that is the main focus as you pull onto the property. The fountain is actually the centerpiece of the turnabout that you drive through to drop off/pick up people.

Anyway this particular Saturday night was seemingly boring and that's not a good thing when you're 16, stupid and mischievous.

So we pulled up to the side of the fountain closest to the street. I got out, stripped down to my boxers (was originally gonna streak but couldn't muster the testicular fortitude) and decide a mere swim wasn't going to cut it.

So I ran into the reception hall, ran into a particular wedding going on... roughly 300 people. Started to grab random drinks off tables as I ran through the party... pounding all sorts of cocktails as I was running... ran up to the main table (which was on a raised platform at the front of the room), grabbed several more drinks pounded them... took notice of the bride and said, "holy shit, you're fucking smoking hot" (which she was) and began to run out of the party.

At first no one either saw me or realized wtf was going on, but by the time I was planning to bail, there were several dudes ready and waiting to kick the shit out of me. Remember that commercial with OJ running through the airport (Hertz maybe?) well that was me getting out of the room.

I make it to the main lobby running my ass off through the doors (dudes still chasing)... run through the roundabout... plant my left foot on the small wall of the fountain and fucking swan dive like Greg Luganis.

Didn't swim through it as much as I was running/treading. Get to the other side, one dude grabs my arm but I'm wet and slippery... elude him... my friend is already rolling away as I hop into the back seat of his 1984 Buick Skyhawk shitbox that is misfiring on probably all cylinders. A couple (maybe more) of the guys are trying to open the doors as we're pulling away but they can't....

Just a typical Saturday night in the life of a jackass in Jersey.

This is why I don't do haunted houses any more.

I had one guy, back when I was like 16 or so, get WAY too close while scaring me and I drilled him square in the balls before I even realized what was happening.

I helped him up and out, and even though they were nice about it at the end, I decided that I prolly shouldn't go back to those.

    ROTFL

ya, the room my friend (who got the pizza) was in, they couldn't get hit

there was a padded walk way, with railings. you walked through it in pitch dark. a little ways back form the railings were coffins.....on hinges and chained to the wall

well these things were straight up, but the hinges allowed them to tilt over people at about 30 degrees. you belt yourself into it (seatbelt) they turn the lights on and everyone jumps forward and screams...very fun for the scarers.

you hear people yelling, as well as coming at you quickly along with the chains snapping tight all of a sudden....scary as hell except they only do it to every 3rd group or so

When I was an undergrad I used to rappel off of the dorm (ten stories) at night. Want to know the main difference between campus "cops" and real cops? Campus cops never look up.

They used the ROTC building for practice at my undergrad alma mater too but it was only a wimpy two-story one.

Nobody ever taught me how to rappel. I went into the Army having already done it. We have some 60 ft sand cliffs on the river that we skinnied up and down with ropes as kids. I'd heard that there was a way to go down a cliff called "rappelling" from the old military vets in town but they only gave me vague details. Mind you, this was years before PCs and the Internet and the local library had no information on the subject. I tried several things with knots, bent steel bars and chains before I discovered that a large quick link fit the ticket perfectly. The rope harness rig I made up wasn't quite what I later found that the Army used but it wasn't too different.

Remember a few months back when that pepper spray incident happened at UC Davis? Well I filmed that. My clip was on the news, and I got some of the down wind pepper spray because I was standing right next (and I mean within arms reach) to the people who got pepper sprayed.
Now i KNOW you guys havent done that! haha
