I love these things with an awkward passion, lol. There's one I keep seeing around, white, no rust, very clean.....with a mustache. It has a small mustache sticker above the grille. You know, an Eagle...Like a Sir!

Edit: I meant the AMC Eagle, the the FF.

It's not new, it's not Mexico
One of times I was stationed in Hawaii (88 - 90) one of my fourplex neighbors had an Eagle. It was broken down and taking up an extra parking space the whole three years I was there and the car wasn't that old back then. When he got transfered, I think he just left it there.

What's a more reasonable price for this car? I never see vehicles this old and this unique so I don't really know. It looks like its showroom quality.

    sorry...

but I wouldn't give you 600 dollars for a 30 year old AMC car, let alone 6 thousand.

basicially, I WOULD NOT own the car. matter of fact, I don't know of any 30 y/o car I'd give 6K for.

These won races and changed rally cars forever. What did the Eagle achieve?

Not the best, but one of the first 4wd passenger cars. Jensen FF, packing a mopar 383 made from 66-71. Unfortunately right hand drive only. In 71-73 2wd versions got a 440 six pack and 390hp.

    http://jalopnik.com/267959/jensen-ff

Despite the small production run, the FF is a hugely influential machine. Years later Audi bought an FF to study while researching AWD for their upcoming Quattro. All modern AWD cars use a variation of Ferguson's Formula transmission. Not surprisingly, the FF attracted a host of famous owners including an MI6 agent, an RAF pilot on which the character of the Forger in "The Great Escape" was based and a bunch of rock drummers. Good ones, too. Mitch Mitchell from the Jimi Hendrix Experience had one (and supposedly Jimi drove it just before he died), the great John Bonham had two and Ginger Baker of Cream had three, putting the FF into Citroen SM territory in terms of hot-shit owners. Nearly. Point is, If you had the means you too could have what was at the time, the car.

Actually most common parts should still be available. The engine was the same 258 4.2l that was in the CJ's, Dana 30 front axle and Dana 35 rear. Other Jeep CJ parts interchange as well and you could outfit it to be a pretty sick 4x4......

That being said, (and I love AMC and Jeep products) I couldn't bring myself to spend $6k on one. :D
