    your reputation precedes you...

Mark dry ice will last as long as regular ice and will keep frozen foods frozen for a while and won't make a mess like Ice will. Put frozen foods in the bottom of the cooler then cardboard then dry ice then cardboard again and your food you want to keep cool. However DONT put it in the cab, unless you want to die. I becomes CO2 when it "melts"

Isn't the poll for who will break down first? Not who will get stuck first.

Dry ice is frozen CO2 (carbon dioxide). It is an inert gas. In fact, ~1% of the earths atmosphere is made up of CO2. From wikipedia: While generally nontoxic, the outgassing from it can cause asphyxiation due to displacement of oxygen in confined locations.

Adam, were you thinking of Carbon Monoxide (CO). CO is poisonous to us and can kill you or make you very ill if you breathe enough of it.

They will both kill you. Exhibit A: has been highlighted for your convenience.
Exhibit B: Carbon monoxide will kill you too.

Mark don't put the cooler in the cab of truck just to be safe, you don't want to pass out behind the wheel. I don't want my O/O buddy to get hurt

a catastrophic failure would mean the BJ snapping and that's pretty difficult to do.

Ben, I will have spare LBJs with me if the worst happens.

Why not pick up one UBJ as a spare for piece of mind. Looks like Toyota OEM is only $32 ea. So Autozone ones will be even less. These are not side specific so can be used on either side.

you have two options Fix it or don't.

the part may or may not fail

so in all reality either way you go it's a 50/50 chance. flip the coin.

So what exactly can go wrong if the bj fails? I assume the leaking means it will run out of lube and it will seize right? and based on the location I would think that would mean you would probably lose steering and flex/droop on that wheel or bend something?

worst case is the spindle falls off the truck at speed and you lose control and cause damage to other parts of the truck or other drivers. best case is gets sloppy and wears out a tire
