check engine light

    i have a 2007 tacoma. i forgot the gas cap after a fill up now the check engine light is on. will the light go out on it s own in this case? truck only has 17000 miles. veet

    Just a head's up..if anyone's "Maintenance Required" light comes on you can shut that off by holding down the Mileage Reset Knob down with your car off and then starting it up wiht the key.

    just to let you guys know i had the check engine light looked at by the toyota dealer.They told me it was an air fuel ratio sensor. Has anyone had theirs changed at such a low mile mark? 17000 miles cheers veet

    Yes. Changeing the oil now, and resetting the light will prevent it from comming on until the next oil change is due.
