so im looking to lift my double cab, and about to pull the trigger on some front 5100s with AAL's in the back, if i set the 5100s to 2" in the front will it be even with the 2" AAL's in the back? or with the weight of the dbl cab should i set them to 2.5 and will it match up in the back? i dont mind the back being higher than the front, but cant stand the front being higher than the back and dont wanna pay a shop to do this twice..

can anyone post a pic of their dcab with 5100s and AAL's in the back? and tell me what setting theyre using?

i dont have the TSB either..

Best bet is to measure the front and rear as it sits now, then add the amount of lift to the measurements to get an idea of how high one end will be over the other.

I cut some wires here. Added some wires there.
Then do it yourself. Even if you've never held a wrench before with all the step by step instructions and pics on here its a breeze.

You truck sits high in the rear already, right? So with a 2" aal you shouldn't be able to end up nose high. You'll be 2" higher in the rear plus whatever the difference is now. So as long as you have a 1/2" of rake now you can't go high enough with just billys to be nose high.

Maybe if everything settles over time, but if that happens you can add a small block or something in the rear for dirt cheap.

The 5100 settings are 0/.85/1.75/2.5". Go with 2.5 if you're using a 2" AAL. Mine is about dead even with a 1.5" AAL.

1.75 on the front will put you about dead even with the stock rear. So if you are doing 2" aal's I would put it your fronts at 2.5"... It will still be a little arse happy, but not as bad as stock.

Remember, as I start another long debate, at the 2.5" or max setting your in the zone of needing aftermarket UCA's to help you obtain a proper alignment...

I've been thinking of going this route.

So all that's needed is the front 5100s, 2" aal, and uca?
Would I need anything else like axle shims, etc?
And I keep the stock front springs on the 5100s?

Buy the billies from downsouthmotorsports.com and buy a your choice of aal. I went with toytec. At 2.5 you won't need aftermarket upper control arms. Yes you will use the OEM sprins if you like.

5100's for 1st Gens have different settings than 2nd Gens. I believe 1st Gens are 0, 1.5 and 2.5 if I'm remembering correctly.

Thanks jdmdcfan for the link and info. Glad to hear I won't need the UCAs, saves me some money for other mods.

Are you running the stock springs on your 5100s?

I'm running King coilovers. But when I had 5100's i ran stock springs set at 2.5 with OEM UCA. Ride wasn't too bad.
