I wanted Florida State, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, or Clemson :anonymous: Any of these would have been good in my opinion.

Are you serious? GT and their high school offense won't work. VT and FS would be much better!

Georgia Southern, a FCS team, gave Bama a good game with a very similar offense. Running the option worked well for LSU in Round one.

True, but GT sucks. I mean really sucks. The only games the won were against their all cupcake conference mates. But if 1out of the last 10 against us is good enough, then so be it. As it is, we are stuck with mizzou..

Anyway, outta here for the night - o'dark thirty comes mighty early! Out.

I will agree that Oregon only plays one or 2 good teams every year. But I'll also say that we had a weak schedule last year, especially by SEC standards. We got outplayed by by the Smurfs, lost a shoot out that could have gone either way to USC, then played a hell of a first half against LSU. Only problem with that is there are 2 halves to a football game. Then lost to Sparty, somehow. USCw is a good team, but I don't think they're as good as everyone thinks.

As for aTm and Mizzou, They should start recruiting better now that they're in the SEC, but for the first year or two, I think they'll be doormats. Maybe not as bad as Kentucky, but doormats none-the-less.

I think we'll be OK this year. Another year with Todd Grantham's system under their belt. As long as we can get through the first couple games when we don't have a secondary, we should be back to a top 5 defense. I think losing Orson Charles will hurt a little, because I think he was kind of Aaron Murray's security blanket. Hopefully Marshall will live up to the hype and take some pressure off of Murray...then maybe Murray will show up in the big games.

True. That loss to the smurfs wouldn't have occured later in the season. And hell, giving 28 pts to USCe was our mistake -nothing great on their part. We imploded in our losses, and could have beaten LSU had we not dropped 2 sure TDs and had some adequate depth (not to mention the uncalled block in the back on the return...). But, a loss is a loss and have to live with it.

I don't know if I see Mizzou really growing the SEC - it was a mistake to have them. I think they will always be near the doormat. A&M might do somewhat better, but they are in the western div and well, you know what resides there...

I think we will be better than OK this year. We have quality depth all across the D, and once the O-line gels we are going to run over a lot of teams. I don't think Orson will be that much of a drop, considering that we have Rome (who is predicted above Orson anyway) and Lynch. I do believe that Marshall will make an impact, as will Crowell and Malcome. Gurley will redshirt...

Welcome to the SEC thread, where even if you went to Kentucky, somehow YOU won the National Championship because Bama is in your conference.

Remind us all again how many in a row? With that being said, the SEC can back it all up being so far ahead of the rest of the country...:D

Oh I get it. I just have never seen how many schools in one conference get along so well. Everyone hates each other in the Big Ten and if OSU won the NC I dont think Michigan would be saying how awesome the Big Ten is. Know what I mean?

Don't get me wrong - I absolutely hate FL and some of the others, but the conference as a whole we support. Life aint easy in the SEC!

I was gonna say.......My next door neighbor graduated from UGA and bleeds black and red. I know for sure that he wasnt happy for UF when they won the NC just because they represented the SEC.

This is all in good banter for me. Not meaning to get anyone feathers ruffled.

Know what you mean - my feathers don't get ruffled, I enjoy good banter as much as the next person. However, there is a guy I work with that is an overboard duck fan and that shit is all I hear. When LSU smacked their ass, he made more excuses than have ever heard...He hates it when I talk about how weak the pac is...

... I would rather see an SEC team win than any other, but that doesn't mean will watch it. My cousin is a UF graduate and that is all he talks about...

I didnt figured you would, we are adults afterall! lol. I honestly just hope for a TRUE NC format. Not saying this because I think other teams should have won it the past 10 years or so, but the format is a complete joke to me.
Before anyone says "oh wait YOU though Michigan deserved a shot?" I say uh...no way....one decent year after the Dick Rod disaster doesnt mean that Michigan is "back" to me. They have to win llike that for at least 5 years for me to even consider that. Michigan will be better off when DRob is gone in my opinion.
Anyways, I love....I mean LOVE college football. Cannot wait till its starts. Until then, I have to watch replays on the big ten network or anywhere I can find it. Hell I watch the Ducks spring game last night, lol.

BTW, anyone play ncaa on xbox 360. Anyone getting ncaa 13. A few of my buddies have a couple online dynasties going on. Pretty fun.

    It's that Southern hospitality :D
It's like having siblings, you can beat up on each other all you want and tear each other down, but if someone is picking on your little brother or sister you go beat them up.

For what it's worth, I think Michigan is gonna put up impressive numbers against Bama. I think Bama will win, but it will be close.

I have NCAA 2010 and '07 for the PS2 I bought 07 for $5 last October and I picked up 2010 2 months ago (I figured they had to improve some aspects and I do like 2010 better than 2007), so that way Mississippi State could win National Titles, even if they were losing on the field :D

There is a lot of mixed emotions that comes with it. Believe me I was so torn when the Gaytors played for the championship. The hater of course wanted them to lose. Then on the other hand it makes us look better when the teams we play regularly win the big one. Provided we give them a good game that is. I think most SEC fans would agree with this. Besides, as much as you hate Ohio State wouldn't you rather they win the NC over one of us to help your own cause?
