I just got my ticking fan motor fixed on Saturday. Mine is under warranty. I told the dealership about the noise, they heard it and a few hours later I had a new fan motor. So far, so good.

My 2011 is still under warranty. How long did it take to install?

I just complained about it when I went in for my oil change and also mentioned I knew there was a TSB out for it. Mall of Georgia did mine. Only took about 20 min.

I can't say for sure how longit took to install. I left mine at the dealership for several hours while I ran all over San Diego doing other errands.

Do you happen to have any idea when this recall will happen? Or do you happen to know where to find the updated TSB so we can print it out and take it to the dealership?

    Yeah.
No windshield problem, but I do have a "squeak squeak" in the rear brakes at times. Thought it was a glazed rotor, changed the rotors and pads and thought it was gone, but it is still there, must be the rear. Out of warranty, and it's not a loud one, just enough for someone with sensitive ears to hear, so I must learn to live with it.

That sucks. Mine is definately coming from the rear brakes. I had the pads cleaned real good and it went away for a bit but came back. I only hear it when I'm either backing up or creeping forward at a stoplight. Annoying to say the least...

    Yeah.
Yep, mine is only audible (barely) when I am slowing *slowly* down for a stoplight, most likely a spot in the drum. I can live with it until I have to do the rear brakes, which I know is a long way off. My '92 still had good shoes at 135K miles.

So, I bought an '09 used but with the "Toyota Certified Vehicle warranty" that extended the factory warranty for 12 months or 12,000 miles.
The rig now has 25,000 miles on it, (24,000 when I bought it ) I've had it for 2 months.

Do you think I have a case for the leaf TSB???

I loaded my 4 wheeler and it sags.

TSB's and recalls shouldn't be affected by length of warranty. I've had recall and TSB work done on a few vehicles in the past that were out of warranty. Take it to them and show them that its bottoming out. Maybe with your 4 wheeler in the back.

I have a 2008 Tacoma, bought in USA. I live in Canada. I heard about rear spring problem from someone with a 2005. His wasn't covered due to miles or age. I took mine in for regular service and mentioned TSB for springs. Service department guy went out and looked at my truck and said it was eligible. New springs were installed. (I had noticed before this though my 1995 Nissan King Cab carried more than my Tacoma.)

TSBs are not recalls and are not applicable once a vehicle is past the 3 yr/36k mile bumper to bumper unless it's powertrain related. Not all consumers need work performed that may relate to a TSB that was issued by the manufacturer.

Having the a/c motor and rear leafs done as we speak. For the springs I told them I hooked my boat up to it and it sagged more than I thought it should. (which is true) They just called and said they are replacing them under warranty. They're still trying to replicate my FM radio volume fluctuating, but hopefully that will be resolved as well. Free 20K mile service as well thanks to p/o's Car Care Plan coupons that he left me.

How can I tell by looking under the truck whether the leaf springs have been replaced or not?

Sorry, I just picked it up used and it's still inside 36k. Squeaky rear end.

    The truck, not me.

Got it, thanks. Just took a look and there are only three that I could see. How do I go about getting that taken care of? I've never needed to take a car in for warranty issues.

    Thanks again!
