Just got the call,a new SC will be installed.
I asked what the problem was and the service rep said he didn't know.
He said he explained the engine shutdown SC split second noise and over the phone and TRD just said they would replace the unit and not send a field guy there to inspect the SC problem like TRD told me they would.
Whatever the issue,it seems TRD knew what the problem is was over the phone.
I would think it is a bearing issue.
Hopefully,I get my truck back Friday if the new unit gets there by Thurs.:)

Good thing there fixing just like that....they always give me probs over fixing anything even under warranty.

Maybe a SC or other TRD part installed by a Toyota dealer pulls more weight than other TRD stuff.
It should be that way but maybe it is.I don't know.
Maybe too,the last thing TRD wants is someone on forums like this knocking the big money making SC because of problems and poor customer service on warranty.
I was going to demand a replacement versus a repair.
Odd that whatever the problem was, there was no feel of it while driving, just the split second noise at engine shutdown.Weird.

I believe the service manager spoke with TRD.I spoke with the sevice rep and he said he didn't know what the problem was.Maybe they don't want to say for whatever reason or he really didn't know.I'd like to know and will ask again when I pick up the truck.

I mean if they replace it with zero hassles then I am ok with getting one.

It's been zero hassle and with a loaner.:)

Funny thing is the SC noise started when I was picking up my truck from the dealer the day they did the TSB spring change.

Ok the noise in the vid is completely normal for the s/c to make. I hope it works out you. Its hard to determine yours without hearing it physically.

    I don't think your buddy's noise is normal,though.
Mine never sounded like that before I had the problem.I don't remember hearing any different type sound other than the regular engine shut off..
