I own a full size lariet F150 looaded 2005... I was driving my wifes miata to work for gas milage reasons...being a pic up man...I compromised....I put the miata back in the garage for the wife....I kept the 2005 for pulling my horse's around...and bought a 2008 tacoma, reg cab, 4 banger to comute my 45 miles to work every day....I am very happy with the taco.... not the power of the f150, nor the get up and go of the miata...but It gets the job done and I am back in a pick up...

by the way...my first toyota...Feels mighty tough...I like her..

I can remember being at work and seeing out in the parking lot a dudes very nice Porsche. I asked my co-worker about it -- and he told me 'how fast it went, how many g's it could pull, and how much it cost ($65K).'

I looked at my 1979 Toyota 4X4 with 150K miles on it and said -- 'wow, that is pretty amazing. My truck can go the speed limit -- and it can go over a curb. Can your car do that?'

Bottom Line: Buy a truck for a truck and a sports car for a sports car. Both will get you there at the speed limit.

I don't know... It always wanted a truck and getting one was just a reaffirmation of that want. Nothing makes me happier, even 5 months later.

Sorry you don't like your truck. I have a Tacoma with a supercharger and love it. Handles good. Zips along with the best of them. Ride is a little stiff, but I expect that . . . it is, after all, a 4x4 truck.

BTW: my other car is a vette. I have fun with both of them. Not sure I would trade either. But make me an offer and I will think about it.

Hopefully I don't feel the same way you do in 6 months because I just bought my truck and it took me the longest time to decide between that and the Evo MR I was going to get for the same price. I currently own a Turbo GSR and plan on selling it. I think the only thing I have going for me is that my wife has a Turbo charged TC. Its just not the same at all. I know how you feel especially the first time I bought gas :( You are definetly not alone. The only reason why I decided to go for the truck is because I wanted something nice and completly reliable. Turbocharged cars take a little bit more money, maintenance, and time. I still love them though. Try to just justify why you bought it, if not you know what you gotta do to be happy:)

WHAT the !!! driving a tacoma has tamed me you cant do nothing but ride it slow and comfortable, and when the snow gets deep here in new england i can and do, gladly pass out the little jap cars. apples and oranges is completely correct. i have my 73 corvette for the summer but the taco is big and comfortable hands down. i would actually like to one day drive over a honda si. i used to have integras and all that mess, but grew up. when it comes down to it ther are 300 cars to choose from for a reason, people need different things for different jobs. your point was pretty useless, venting or not. its almost like buying church shoes to go run a marathon

I went from a 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe to a 4cyc Tacoma AC. Yes, MAJOR change so I completely understand what you are saying. However, I bought a house and needed a truck, but I do miss the speed, so I went and bought this.

To the original poster, the best way to be happy is to buy a vehicle that first off suits your needs and wants, then go from there.

I ride street bikes, dirt bikes, road bicycles and sometimes haul the drum cases around, so a truck bed is nice to have.

btw, nice R6, here's my FZ1. I call it a cheater bike since I can pretty much do whatever I used to do on a supersport and not have to see a chiropracter after a day ride.

    I love my tacoma because it's a 4x4.

With my old pickup I didn't have that and every winter was nerve racking. I had to load the box with blocks and sand bags and I'd still be unable to climb our road in front of the house because of the snow/slush. The driveway is about 30 degrees and even if dry, wet slush on the tires would have me slipping and unable to climb the driveway.
Now, I can relax and driving is less stressful and I only have to worry about the other drivers.
My summer ride is a '64 T-Bird convertible like in the Highlander series and a restored '69 Yamaha Twinjet motorcycle and a Piper Cherokee Cruiser to fly.

None currently, but I would like a better sounding exhaust and perhaps a cold air pack and some color coded step bars
Wow, I am afraid to post a picture of my 1970's Triumph 650, the original oil weeper.

Shoot, if I brought home one of those the Mrs. would spend a bigger amount on drapes or towels.
