Today 4wheelparts finished installing my lift (5100, dakar leafs, ome coils) on my truck, and parked it outside of there shop (which is in kind of a shady area) and it got keyed from front fender to back tail light..... so anyways happiness turned into sadness.. any advice on this? besides contacting my insurance, I was assured by 4wheelparts that they had no responsibility....:notsure:

4wheelparts told me they had no responsibility, but i did ask them to keep it in their garage and not parked out front. guess what i say doesnt matter...

looks like most of the scratch is just on the clear coat, but behind the front of the bed, there is a foot and a half deep scratch, this sucks...

4WP can say whatever they want. The truck was in their possession when it got vandalized. You can get a lawyer involved, though ultimately the only compensation you'll get is the cost of repainting.

I would be more worried about 4WP installing the parts incorrectly...

this seems right. theyre fucks for arguing, its their fucking shop insurance, would cost them nothing out of pocket, thats why you buy insurance as a shop, for when shit like this happens. like when a tree fell on my truck in my friends driveway, his homeowners insruance covered it.

They choose to park it on the public street.
I agree that it is there responsibility to protect your vehicle until the keys are returned to you.

Especially after you had verbal communication with them to keep it in their garage at night to no doubt presumably prevent this type of thing from happening, they have something to answer to because of it. That is unless they told you otherwise that it wasn't going to be possible.

I could be wrong but I think the legal term is bailment which means that the shop had the responsibility of the vehicle while in their care and especially if damage is done while in the process of repair or maintenance of the vehicle. They are responsible and should be insured for this type of damage. I would suggest you need the services of a lawyer should this shop deny paying for all of the damages while in their care.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bailment

I would look further into it if I were you.

You're gonna spend more on consultation fees than it would to fix your truck

another good point, I have only had shitty vehicles up until this point so i am kinda new at this, a friend suggested researching one with free over the phone consultations.... anyway I am gonna show back up to 4wp with a friend and give em a talking to. but if that still falls through last resort would be my insurance:mad:

I'll also put up a nice pic of the damage tomorrow if you all would like hehe
