brush on bed liner

What's the better diy brush on bed liners out there?

 

herculiner is an awesome roll on/brush on diy bedliner. check out my gallery....i used it on my bumpers.

 

I put the Duplo one in my horse trailer and it has done a great job. VERY durable.

 

has anyone put a Bedliner on a 2nd gen

 

+1 for herculiner...Used it on a workshop floor and it was great.

 

Has anyone done the Dupli-Color spray on bed liner? It comes in a spray can. It is a diy product, but I guess it gives you the professional look. I saw it at oreily auto parts today for 8 dollars a can.

I tried the spray (highly overrated) but the Duplo paint on is great.

 

i rolled on the her liner into my 96...I have probably 4 coats on there and it sill chips. If i could do it all over again, id get line-x done. But, since I was on a budget at the time, I got herc for my bday and I rolled it on. It looks good, but if you use your truck, as a truck, it will chip.

 

i tried it on my skid plates......and i didnt like it at all. plasticote has a spray can bed liner that works pretty well. its good and textured/grippy.

 

When I first got on this site I talked to you about the bedliner. Just yesterday I finally sanded my chrome steps, primed them, and now painted them a satin black. They look great back on. But I have a feeling they are going to start chipping. I will probably get them linex'd if it gets too bad. I will have to get you some pics.

There are several bed liner products you can find at automotive paint stores. Talk to the sales clerks. They will be able to tell you what product is preferred by the local auto shops. You can buy a spray gun for use with a compressor that is made to spray the bed liner. It is cheap and works like a charm. Just make sure you tape and mask everything you don't want to have bedliner on. Check out the pics of the old jeep I restored (sort of) in the gallery. We sprayed on the bed liner and it was great. Never chipped, but then it went on over a new coat of a good primer.

 

I just finished applying Herculiner bed liner to my trucks bed yesterday. All in all it was a fairly easy process. Of course the hardest part was sanding\ scrubbing\ roughing up the paint. It took about five hours to remove the "shine" from the paint as per the instructions. Taped up the areas and went at it with the bed liner. No real big problems, except for three. Number 1. I put a little lip over the edge(s) of the bed and after I removed the tape the edges weren't as clean as I thought them to be. Number 2. the second and third coat tale forever to dry. A day later and it it still somewhat tacky although it's still only in the mid to upper 50's over here. And Number 3. that shit does not come off at all even if it has dried a little bit. After I removed the tape I noticed some small spots where the paint had dripped onto the side, no real biggie. The worse is the permanent stain on my hands. I wore gloves and a long sleeve shirt during the application but, still got a little bit on my hands during clean up. Looks pretty good though, I'll try nd post some pics when I can.

as long as you didn't get any on your hootus you're fine...

 

give it a few days......it'll wear off your hands......use some dish soap a couple times a day, it'll soften the liner up. trust me....i had to do it too when i bedlined my bumpers.
