Little late for me also but like it was said before... its worth a top spot for longer.. Nice Job. And if I were that kid and his parents I would be sincerely grateful. Not many people especially your age would bother helping anyone. Glad he is ok. Thanks to u

Nice job Nick, You did just as you should have. Those that were laughing couldn't have reacted as you did. They froze and were overwhelmed.. your quick reaction gave him a fighting chance. No matter the out come Nick you did all you could with what you had, couldn't ask anymore of you. You should feel very proud of yourself, we are.

    Happy Birthday

    Congratulations!
In my school, I'm also a Red Cross instructor who certifies many of our students in first aid and CPR. I just wanted to be the hundredth person to tell you that you should be very proud of yourself for handling the situation in the way that you did. You did what you were trained to do and that's highly commendable.

For starters, you did not hesitate to insert yourself into the situation--which, as you know, receives a heavy emphasis in the Standard First Aid/CPR course. (There's always something that one can do.) That's a little thing, but a big thing. And, as I was reading your account, I couldn't help but notice that you used the new CPR protocol! In Canada, we've only been teaching that for 3 months.

I have to assume that you were just recently certified or re-certified. It goes without saying that EVERYONE in the room was very fortunate that you were there and you acted as you did. Well done!

Sudden cardiac arrest. He seriously cheated death. ROSC chances were about 40%.

Citizen performed CPR saves many lives. I once went on a run where an infant had fallen in a pool and drowned. The mother was doing CPR when we got there. Before we got to the hospital we had turned a limp, blue "dead" baby into live, pink squalling-mad one. The mother couldn't thank us enough. I told her to thank herself as it was her CPR that had helped save her baby.

Sounds like he just passed out. The new standard of care is compression only cpr, no rescue breaths. At least in Az. Great job reacting and slap that oher kid for me.

Great job! An older gentlemen, around the age of fifty had a sudden collapse in one of the buildings here at our Portland campus. Everyone was laughing at the old guy, except me and a few girls; we are nursing students. We approached the situation the same way you did, and got the assistant nursing professor to preform CPR, saving this mans life.

Not only was this a learning experience as a nursing student, but I realized people don't care, or are to scared to help because of their image. You would of been amazed at how many people just sat and watched, doing nothing.

In high-school, a sophomore (I was a senior) had a stroke. Literally, everyone was laughing at this girl. She was known to have sudden strokes, I forgot the disease she had, but everyone laughed except me and a few other students. I got angry, this girl could've died if it wasn't for my principle setting her head back and making sure her tongue was in proper position.

All in all, this shit is serious. I do not like hearing that college students laughed. Fucking disgusts me more than anything. How would you like if I laughed in your face while you fell to the ground helpless.

Great job, even though it was two years ago, you did something that probably less than 10% of normal citizens would've done. Mad rep to you.

Amazing situation to really pull through in. Good job.

With all that adrenalin I wouldn't be surprised if that kid would need CPR after I was done with him...
