I'm in need of a stylish ladder rack for my 09 Prerunner with the 5 ft bed and haven't had any luck. The TracRac wont work due to the type of bedliner I have. Any suggestions?

Stylish ladder rack? lol Thule Xsporter 422XT is what I use. Track racks suck and aren't adjustable.

Sorry OP...can't let this guy get away with bad info.

If I knew of a rack that worked with a top I would let you know, but I have no clue.

    Sure they are

Thule and Tracrac are the same company you just pay more for the Thule name. Tracrac is made for the pro's and Thule is made for weekend warriors.

My Tracrac will out haul and outlast ANY rack Thule makes and that is a FACT. 800# rating FTW!

For $199.00 OTD you can have your adjustment that costs over $200 to have. I just consider that adjustment a future failure point.

I know what height my rack needs to be so no need to adjust it http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/sp...-kayaking-canoeing-thread-17.html#post4796413

If all you are hauling is a couple of ladders, the X-Sporter is easily sufficient. The nice thing about is how easy it installs, adjusts and removes if you don't want it permanently installed. The X-Sporter is designed for hauling canoes, kayaks and bicycles not lumber or steel.

The Trac Rack is designed for more commercial use hence has a much greater load capability.

I have used an X-Sporter for my outdoor gear for years and it has served my flawlessly. I have a friend who has the Trac Rack. He too hasn't had any trouble

I have a set of Yakima racks for the cab, and a hitch mounted "goalpost" style t bar that I use out back. I modified the hitch bar with a set of hooks and I use straps connected to the bed rails to steady the whole thing. I have carried some pretty long ladders, kayaks, and lengths of electrical conduit and strut. The best thing about this system is that it is removable in less than five minutes.
