Nope I have a job that I would like to keep so I was doing something called work, then I went to lunch.
I know these words are tough for you so here are some pictures to show you how over rated Chara and Thomas are.

i dont care how much work he puts in, theres a whole lineup of defensemen that i would take over him. names such as: Mike Green, Shea Weber, Karlsson, Nicklas Lidstrom, Dustin Byfuglien, and Visnovsky.
easy on the expletives, you have yet to show any sort of intelligence.

Good luck with a defense core of all puck movers that are terrible defensemen. Your team would be playing games with scores like football.

lidstrom with karlsson on first line. - lidstrom is a mature and more stay at home defenseman. Karlsson will get up caught up in the rush, but can rely on Lidstrom to be back.

Green and Weber - two solid defensemen, a great shooter at the point in green and weber is probably the best all around defenseman in the league.

Byfuglien and visnovsky - byfuglien is a solid aggressive and gritty defensemen. Pair that with more scoring from visnovsky and you have a solid pairing.

EDIT: Never said Thomas was overrated, what I meant to say is he looked human this year. Teams couldn't figure him out when they won the cup, and I will agree that he had a great year. I used to say it to everyone of my Bruins fan friends, Thomas benefits from the strong defense and the angles he takes on shots. He lacks fundamentals and the ability to move from side to side. I played high school hockey and my butterfly slide was better than his.

I would slightly agree, but that not the reason why the Bruins didn't move on this year. They were trying to coast through the first round and they ran into a hot goalie.

Correct. Holtby is playing well at the right time. The bruins didn't make any big offseason moves to improve their anemic power-play or to improve their offense this year all-together. Yea the bruins goals for and goals against stat was pretty good, but they blowing out teams like the leafs and the lightning early in the season. They were the same team as last year and thought they could, like you said, coast through the playoffs. They showed no grit this year compared to last year where they played to the last whistle every game.

1)Lidstrom is too old now. His best is behind him. I would sooner pair a guy like Suter or Weber with Karlsson
2)Byfuglien is a high risk/high reward player. He has yet to prove his team can win the playoffs with him at D. There is a reason Chicago took him away from D during their cup run. He is often caught out of position.
3)Your disdain for the Bruins has made you blind. Chara is an elite Defenseman in this league. He is in fact the complete package. Your passing over of him makes you foolish

Lidstrom is old and would get smoked by most of the young speedsters in the game today. Which would make the lidstrom Karlsson pairing suspect.

Green is not a solid defensemen. He was very shaky in the first round of the playoffs. Weber is prob one of the best defensemen in the league. Decent pair but will cave when greens side is overloaded.

Buff and Vis is an alright pair. Buff is a natural forward who was moved to defense 2 years ago when he was traded to ATL (Did you know they had a hockey team?) so his fundamentals need some work.

Not to mention you would be looking at a 32 mil cap hit. Thats not including the huge raise someone will give Karlsson. So now you have 28 to spend on 12 forwards and 2 goalies. Whats your next move genius?

Nice job pack peddling on thomas though. He did have a bad season and could be traded or benched in favor of rask for it.

This is assuming I would have a team for a year. If you look at his stats this year he still looked solid. He played injured for the majority of his 70 games played this year. He's still got stuff left in the tank and I wouldnt be surprised to see him back next year. (would you take him in his prime? fuck yes.). Suter is also a great fit, awesome defensemen.

Byfuglien would probably not be a great fit for a defensive minded team, but like I said I like his aggressiveness and grit. Hard hitting defensemen with some offensive talent. Maybe I like his name more than anything? Although I root for the rangers, I prefer watching a more offensive oriented team. When I first started watching the Rangers, back in the early 90s and obviously when they won the cup. Remember how many greats there were on the team at the time and remember how offensive minded that team was. Brian Leetch with Sergei Zubov along with the hard hitting Beukeboom. Some of the most exciting hockey was seen when those guys were rushing up the ice.

Yes I hate the bruins more than anything due to the fact that I live in New England. I hear bandwagon fans talk about Chara more than anything and it urks me beyond belief. But I still stand by the fact that Chara is not all that he is cracked up to be. He survives on a defensive minded team and it's set up for him.

Sounds like a typical southern Connecticut douche bag to me. Hates New England and wants to be part of NY.

I was giving you my ideal defensive pairings, not what would be compliant to the current salary cap.
