Pockets in bed?

There is a pocket on both sides of the bed of my 2012 long bed. They are right above the axle. What are these for?

I don't think so. There are storage compartments at the rear of the bed. these are above the wheel wells.

No that's all they are for is to store stuff.. They are worthless and a lot of people but lights in them or out door speakers for tailgating.

 

The pockets are storage compartments in addition to the covered ones towards the end of the bed. Some members here use them to house lights for illuminating the bed. I've never found a practical use for them myself.

 

I keep a tow chain in the upper pockets. The ones at the back seem to have more dirt and water that gets into them. It's nice to have the pockets above where the bed notches are if you've installed a plywood platform.

they are for dead midget strippers...they don't have doors so they can air out the stench

You can put a 2x4 in them across the bed to support larger pieces of plywood.

 

He's talking about the pockets over the wheel wells , not the indents in the bedsides front and rear of the wheel wells

 

I keep rope in mine

 

empty beer can storage of course...

 

they are to keep you wondering what they are for.

 

There for wondering how you you are going to put one of them back in after doing the diff breather mod and the plastic clips break off.

 

For storage and to get whatever you store there super dirty!!

Someone posted before that at the factory it is a lifting point to install the bed onto the frame.

That is the only answer besides storage for dead midget stripers that makes sense.

They are pretty much pointless
