I just did my lr install two weeks ago...newest model with improved bushing. From your description it sounds like you are having difficulty capturing the other hole...correct me if I'm wrong.I found I had to move the arms around; up and down/in and out to catch the other bolt hole. I also made sure to lightly grease the washers where they contact the rubber bushing surface to hold them in place. Also

As a side note and an extreme fix; my truck was hit on the driver's side last year and the body shop apparently cut the original uca bolt off and in the process slightly cut the bolt support tube (well, that is what I'll call it). This may have slightly lengthened the clamping distance - I noticed no difference in bushing pre-load after torque the uca bolt to 85 lbs. And there wasn't to much of a difference side to side in the install.Again this would be an extreme fix if all other things are correct (right part number on the uca).

Can't remember offhand the torque setting , but you aren't supposed to tighten it fully till the truck is on the ground and the suspension loaded

Did you not get an installation sheet with the LR UCA's in the box ?
