suspension issues with 5100's hitting coil

here are 3 of them... I couldn't get a good pic of inside, but the inner coil has some rough parts where it feels like there has been rubbing.

I appreciate everyone's help/opinion on this... I'm a noob to all of it...

 

i am personally having a hard as shit time trying to be able to invision the shaft hitting the coils..

or even the shock body for that matter

 

I'm gonna go out on a limb here , I have heard more than a few times (here & else where) that OME's & 5100's do not play well together, although I don't see how a compatability issue would be this type...

 

while its not the best, as long as the 5100's are at 0" then there really shouldnt be an issue iirc

Unless the shaft was extremely bent or maybe a broken coil ...

 

make that a x3... I was baffled when I saw it today... I'll take a video and post it to youtube tomorrow, and post the link here...

 

i hate to be a buttf**k but can you photoshop an arrow into one of the 3 posted pics on the whereabouts the "rubbing" is happening please, or count the coils in relation to one picture so we can get a general idea of where on the assembly the issue is

and you are saying it hits on extension not compression?

 

that's correct... it goes down fine, but when lifted back up, it's like the rod slides over and taps the coil... my first assumption is that it's loose, but the top nut is tightened as tight as it will go... they may have lost a washer or something when I got the springs mounted to the 5100???

 

Is something coming undone at extension and luckily not falling apart?

 

I cant see it but the shaft is still one piece? the stem top did not happen to shear off somehow?

 

The shaft appears to be in one piece, I've ran my finger up to the top of it and when I felt it, it feels solid...

I sure hope not... I may take it up to the shop tomorrow just to get them to glance at it, and make sure it's all at factory specs... while trying to research this, I read (this was on a mustang forum and was for lowering coils/springs) that an alignment could help solve this (toying with the camber?)
