Brand new 2012 Tacoma Double Cab shakes/vibrates when accelerating. Normal?

So I just got a brand new 2012 Tacoma Double Cab Long Bed TRD Sport.

Truck has around 180miles on the ODO. When I accelerate from a stop, at around 10-20mph the vehicle has a small shake/vibrating throughout the truck. its not coming from the steering wheel, but instead the whole truck.

Is this normal? Maybe because the differential etc. inst broken in yet?

Any other ideas? Should I take this to the service center?

Whoops fixed that. Tacoma

 

It had 4 miles on the odo when I got it. I didn't want to push the engine during break in that much.

 

Big thread on this driveline vibe , so I would suggest it is a trait of the truck

I think I found it, some guy with a 2012 complaining of the same thing. Ugh

 

probably the driveline vibes!!! i cringe my teeth every time i hear or feel em while driving, but it probably wouldn't hurt to have it looked at. go bug the dealership lol.

 

Can someone please tell me how a driveline vibration could ever be considered *normal*?

by any chance is it a 2.7L? I test drove a 2.7L 4x4 access cab auto...when I "got on it " a little bit at a standstill...it shook like you described...that convinced me to get the v6..which was smooth as silk when I pounced on it the same way...

 

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed a rise in problems with the 2012s? Seems like someone is always on complaining about a 2012.

 

My 06 does this and it feels like torque converter shudder to me.

No problems with my 2012! I stomped on mine during the test drive. I hit the brakes, did a three point turn, a 360 turn around in a culdesac and took a 3 hour trip to Truckee the next morning. If I had noticed ANYTHING wrong, I never would've driven it off the lot.

It's a double cab 4x4 V6 by the way.

 

Does it vibrate at certain MPH? If so get to that point and see if switching to 4x4 fixes it (not going to fast obviously)... if it goes away with 4x4 I'll send you the link on how to fix it. Or look up ecgs.
