Folding table saw stands

Need a stand for my Ryobi BT3000. (Awesome saw if you need one), and nned a stand that i can fold up and get out of the way when not in use. Never seen this dewalt one before anyone else? At 220 bucks its pricey but I have the identical miter saw stand i paid 99 bucks for used (it was brand new).

don't really have much experience in this vein, ..but the dewalt stand you posted looks pretty nice, ...and if it's just 33 lbs, i could see rigging a way to hang it on the garage wall..

 

I made a wood frame that I clamp in a Black & Decker Workmate, set my miter saw on it and get to cutting. works for me. That Dewalt stand does look nice.

 

I bought the Bosch used for $45. He got it with the saw and never used it. Score! So I set it up and it has two height positions which is awesome. The stand will need a plywood insert to fit my saw but it will sit inside of the frame as per design. Very happy I found this so cheap. And it folds flat(about 3.5" I estimate) and only weighs about 22lbs (estimate).

 

I have a Dewalt stand for my Dewalt miter saw, That thing is solid! I love it.

 

The basic folding one or the one in the first post with wheels and everything?

I have the Ridgid MS-UV. It is an absolute beast. It costs more than any that you have listed, but the build quality exceeds any of the ones you are looking at.

I have attachment brackets for my miter saw and my table saw, takes 10 seconds to switch them out. Once its folded up you can drag this thing anywhere. I love it.

Now the down side, it is HEAVY. You won't be hanging this thing on any walls. In fact, with my miter saw on it, it takes 2 people to lift. If you are looking for a stand that you will FREQUENTLY be folding up and putting away and pulling it back out, spend the $$$$ for a quality stand now. No regrets with mine, its awesome.



On a side note, they don't sell the one I have anymore, its been replaced by a newer model.

 

I'll take my plywood mitre saw table and a couple of folding aluminum sawhorses over these fancy stands any day

 

I often use my Taco tailgate. Works pretty well, but no outfeed support.

 

This is what I was going to say. If your a woodworker, you should be able to build one

 

I would never build a folding tablesaw stand out of wood .

Not when you can buy a metal one so cheap .

A mitre saw stand on the other hand , always build my own . I tried to like the DeWalt folding stand , I don't , it sits in the corner of my shop .

I like being able to use the flat , 8' long surface of a plywood top to support the stock being cut off , as well as a clamping / working area for planing or sanding the trims I'm installing , I also have small cubbies under the table I keep my little hand tools , sandpaper etc in

 

Build a couple of decent sawhorses. (make sure they are the kind that can "nest" one inside the other for storage) Make a mount for the miter saw and set it on top. A couple of carriage bolts, washers and wing nuts will hold the mount to the sawhorses and allow quick disassembly. If you spend more than $50 on this set up you're doing something wrong. Or... Go to your local vocational high school and ask if they can build you something. Pay for the lumber (maybe) and buy the kids a couple of pizzas.

This works if you are doing all your work in your own shop. I have dragged my saw on its folding table to many many places. My parents house, my sisters house, a few neighbors, and even a house being built by Habitat for Humanity. It just depends on how portable you want it to be.

 

I love the dewalt mitre saw stand, have a basch mitre saw on it. Dont think i would try and build either though since the huge outfeed suports on the miter would be hard to replicate.
I had a table saw cabinet I made out of 3/4 ply. It was nice but too heavy, great for shop, not for travel/space savings.

 

Nope , my saw moves all over the place , it takes the same amount of time to break down my set up as it does the DeWalt folding stand

 

Mine breaks down in 10 seconds or less, not including rolling up the cord, and rolls away in one trip. It sets up in the same amount of time. My stand is the Ridgid, not the DeWalt.
