Monte I think if you Mix your Father's idea and min it wold be a sweet place to stick water and gas cans. I'm putting my cans lower to keep the COG down.

I thought I read somewhere that a turbo on a V6 was a waste. Better spent on a 4 cyl. :notsure: That correct?

yea i think my rig is turning more into an expo rig :p

thats okay tho, i like it  i think ill do them both.

    hell no!

turboing the I4 is much easier tho as all the exhaust ports are on one side of the motor. Why most turbo vehicles are I4s or I6s.

V6s or V8s usually get twin turbos, one for each side of the exhaust.

ill be making a custom rear mount turbo tho similar to the STS turbo with some tweaks tho to make it more offroad friendly :spy: that way the exhaust is all ready summed together. takes more piping but will the right sized turbo, it works amazing and power potential in a turbo system is way higher then a SC.

unless i find a SC for a good deal then ill just do that.

i am also considering getting a crawl box instead of lockers..woul cost about the same..but then i also wouldn't have to regear so id great amazing hwy mpg

haha i know i know. But hey, im a dreamer and planner.

as of right now, my list goes like so..

    -finish rack
    -get RTT
-get some small things such as CB antenna, some water cans/gas cans
    -rear bumper
    -BEEFED CB drop bracket
    -Brakes
-CO2 tank with regulator for tires
    -Marlin Crawler box
    -turbo
    -lockers
-skids(tho this might get moved higher up maybe..)

In that order for the most part.

Btw i just go done fabing up the top cross bar and the down supports to the main rails i really like it. Im going make the rack hold the water and gas cans in between those two downwards supports. should fit 3 easy.

im not sure ill do your idea tho. It doesn't seem necessary now..

yea if i find one local fairly cheap, then i will do that for now. An ARB in my current diff is way more strong tho.

Okay, mocked up and welded in the supports for the roof rack. It did indeed help make it more rigid again.

    2012-05-05_00-22-25_420_444b997451fd84b400ca03f49e6d4fbba1c35671.jpg

i liked it so i welded it all in and put in back in the truck to see if i could add gussets under the roof rack which i can and will do as well. took it for a spin with it in as well and the roof is still very stiff. Seems to only shack side to side which i think once the light hoop is on and the floor rails it'll be super stiff. Im liking it!

You just buy steel through the local machine shop? I don't even know where/how to begin looking for some around here.

    yep.

we used to have two places you could by it at. Now there is only Production Machine.

just look for machining shops in your area. They will sell you anything
