Lifted the Honcho today. Also added a high clearance bumper and the solid steering link. Now time to put weights on the wheels.

I absolutely cannot wait for my OFNA to get here. I want something new to play with! I got all my batteries charged, etc. and went over to a buddy's to run on his oval track. Even though my SC10 needs some serious attention, I can still stay on a trio of Jato's asses. (These guys race a late model dirt car on the weekends, too) I need to make up for some weight I've added... and that one big bit of power...

This is the 1:1 car they run. They're thinking about getting some circle track r/c's, too.

Pit bulls are sick, all of my friends run them.. Even the 2.2s. I'll get them for my dingo as well.

Remember that dirt oval I posted pics of week or two ago? Those guys run 1/8 4x4 with late model bodies on that course, pretty cool even though I don't care for the real thing.

A couple of them are thinking about buying the Ofna Hyper Sprint. Or maybe the Mini Late Models made by AE and Losi.

Hey guys, I'm looking at getting my nephew an RC. He's 9 and has Aspergers. I was looking for something relatively cheap ($200 range if possible) that we could build from the ground up. He wants a gas powered truck, something like a trophy truck that can go fast and jump. Any pointers for a kit or advice in general would be greatly appreciated.

For a nine year old I would look at electric, (well, I'd look at electric period) it's just as fast, if not faster, and plug and play.

How long does the battery usually last between charges?

If you want a kit the SC10 kit is sort of kind of in that range... until you buy a motor and servo and radio for it.

The thing is with a kit-type truck, it's geared more towards a racer. So normally it won't come with a motor, servo, radio, etc. You build a rolling chassis and buy a motor, etc to put in it.

depends on the battery, there are all kinds of different brands, etc. Personally, I would go with a Lithium Polymer (LiPo) battery. I have 5 of that type. The better 3 of the 5 will run in my truck for 20-35 minutes depending on how hard I'm driving.
