Great to know someone else here shoots with Pentax, if you are looking for the battery I recommend pentaxforums.com marketplace

Pentax has a great line of Manual lenses and they are cheap on ebay too. M-Series Primes are great.

I love this thread so hard...

Went down to my buddy's track today hoping to get some good runtime in. He said it was in decent shape...

Looked like shit. Can't believe I didn't take a pic. Had thick-ass crabgrass weeds tall enough for my truck to get stuck on. And I managed to finally break an a-arm after having the truck since november. I'm impressed. The front side of the a-arm where the hinge pin goes through snapped. I blame my aluminum bulkhead. Regardless, time to upgrade! :D

The SC10 will be on the shelf for a while, though. With the electronics going in the ofna I'm thinking of maybe putting a milder power system in it. Dad has been talking like he wants an r/c, now. It's so addicting...

I'm not really sure... Something a bit higher KV, geared more towards a 2wd racing truck. I might even go with a sensored setup? :notsure:

What do you run in your T4?

Novak GTB 2.4Ghz with a Novak Ballistic 6.5 sensored motor. It's pretty old, but still runs great, (way more motor than our track needs) I don't know what that works out to in kvs. Novak used to be pretty good stuff, all there newer ESCs are cheesy looking crap. I've got a old 5800 Super Sport Novak brushless system that still runs perfect, these were from around 2002, IIRC they were the first complete brushless systems (motor and ESC) ever offered for 1/10 scale surface use.

Get him an S-Maxx orr a T-Maxx. The T-Maxx would be easier to build

Digging back found another pic of one of my R/Cs I had. I custom build this a couple of years ago, I had a machine shop make the chassis, I did all the carbon fiber parts with the help of a friend of mine. It had T-Maxx suspension with pro-line power stroke shocks. Low profile shock tower, Fastlanemachine diff cases with unlimited engineering 6 spyder diffs, Center diff was off a GS Strom, center dog bones were made custom by R/C alloys, STS .28 Engine, ofna 17mm wheel conversion and I don't remember what else.

My 3800kv is compared to 13T motors, I think. I wouldn't care to try out one of these other brands. Tacon motor and a hobbywing ESC? I can get it going for about 60 bucks, I think. They're really popular with a lot of people.

Guys over on RCTech swear by the HobbyWing speedos. Good buddy was trying his damnest to get one of there complete systems for a new RC8.2e, waited a month for it, HKong hobby shop (or what ever) finally admitted it was out of stock, so he dropped for a Tekin RX8/1900kv, which should be here tomorrow from Tower. Next day, the China stuff was in stock...
